Are the high scores on a Marble Madness supposed to be saved even when
the power is turned off? Mine are not getting saved and I can't seem to
locate a battery on the boards anywhere. Thanks to anyone who can help.

The top 4 scores (as I recall) are saved. The remaining ones aren't.

The System I mainboard has a 2804 EEPROM for setup data and high score
saves, which only supports a limited number of write cycles - the current
production version of the part supports 10000 write cycles, so it's impor-
tant to limit the number of writes done to the part.

See http://www.xicor.com/Data_Sheets/X2804C.html for the summary data
sheet and http://www.xicor.com/PDF_Files/X2804C.pdf for the full data
sheet.
