I have an original Taito Double Dragon cab. While cleaning in the
bottom behind the pull out drawer I see that my cab is obviously made
from some other cabs. Mayby up to 4 different ones as I see side art
from another cab on the wood pieces.

Here's the pics, any guesses as to what it was. Note that there seems
to be different graphics on each piece.

No idea. But the second pic with the serpent looks to be about the
right width (or height) for a pin. Try posting these on RGP.

That's what I was thinking. While I don't know how Taito would have
access to surplus pinball cabinets, the first thing that came to mind
when I looked at the top sliver of wood in the first picture was "That'
from an F-14 Tomcat pinball cabinet".

As odd as it seems, the art with the serpent scales seem like it
belongs to the backbox of Bally's 1987 pinball Dungeons & Dragons...
check out the flyer below...

http://flyers.cdyn.com/pingames/bally/html/dungeons_dragons-1987-f-1.html

And the piece beneath that - with the orange and yellow stripes on a
black background, and a partial Bally "B", looks like the backbox for
Bally's Heavy Metal Meltdown also from '87.

I'm assuming the other "orange-stripes-on-black-background" pieces are
from HMM as well.

I have similar recycled pieces inside my dedicated Double Dragon as
well. However, mine are a bit more logical, as they are from the side
panels of Operation Wolf, an actual Taito game.

What's funny though, is that one of the Operation Wolf recycled pieces
in my game shows the "growling wolf face" that is right beneath the
"OL" in WOLF. When I first started working on my Double Dragon, and I
had to poke around in that lower drawer, that growling wolf face really
startled me!

Williams would build games for other companies back in the day.
Same thing Stern does today.

Keeps the factory from having slow times.

The #3 blue one is definitely from a D&D pin.

That's it!

So my 1987 Taito Double Dragon Arcade Game is made from:

Piece #
1 Bally Heavy Metal Meltdown Pinball 1987
http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1150&picno=4045
2 Bally Xenophobe Arcade Game 1987
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=X&game_id=10503
3 Bally Dungons & Dragons Pinball 1987
http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=743&picno=18743
4 Bally Heavy Metal Meltdown Pinball 1987
http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1150&picno=4045
5 Bally Xenophobe Arcade Game 1987
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=X&game_id=10503

That's pretty cool!

Thanks guys,

Brent
