Just reading back over past few weeks of RGVAC, folks have been asking
about what art I have produced, albeit in small quantities. If you
really want some eye candy check out the links off Tom Mcclintocks
superb wesbite :-

http://www.ionpool.net/arcade/archuk/archer_artwork_2005.html

I have been off list for a while due to heavy duty work schedule, but
things are looking much better from here on in.

I've got a big production run happening next week. I also really need
to set up a website !

The above link also has a HUGE spreadsheet list of what artwork I have
archived, and which pieces have made it through to production already,
and some answers to commonly asked questions.

Star castle, Rip Off, Solar Quest, Space War (vector beam version),
Warrior, Armor Attack side-art pairs are all production ready. If you
have literally half an hour to look around ALL the links of the above
page you'll see I've been pretty busy with artwork.

Star Wars cockpit is pretty much there too, but this is no less than 34
sq ft of print, or about 2.5 times the area of normal side art, so it
aint going to be cheap !

Millipede full side and front art was done back in the summer.

Battlezone SA full size, Missile command SA, Asteroids Deluxe (another
print run just done) all available at the moment.

I still have a few CPO's left from the last batch of Peter Pack Rat
and Space Fury (pics on the above links).

I've got a couple of full sized Black Widow side art pairs left as
well. These were printed on full length white roll, so you just apply
the whole thing rather than a decal on a prepped white sided cab.

I've also been working on special side art for Atari
Mini's/Cabaret, and have already produced Missile Command and
Battlezone Mini side art based on shrunk versions of the full sized
art. I've been playing around with tempest mini but this needs
substantial editing to make it fit tastefully. Asteroids and Centipede
mini also exists !

I might yet tackle Cosmic Chasm but need 20 orders for Side art and CPO
before I do this, because it's a horrendous amount of work due to the
really poor quality of the original art prints. The original stuff is
also very different on each side, and the colours hugely inconsistent
from top to bottom piece. I could either faithfully reproduce poor
image detail, or better still subtly update it to look a millions times
better. But I'm looking at 50+ hrs work on that one, just to make it
look good.

I need to update Toms ionpool site with pics of the above, and this
will happen over the Christmas break.

I might consider getting some of the BZ mini side-art
from you, but I would prefer it look original and not
just be a shrunken version of the upright. The
Centipede cabaret artwork is also a little different
than the UR, I believe. I do have some mini side
art pics, if you need any.

looks pretty good for digital based printing. still puzzled why you
bought my millipede front art (which was screen printed from the
original atari films) and then made it yourself.

high res. digital printing sure keeps advancing. a great alternative
for small runs or when the budget doesnt permit screen printing.

i would likely buy a set of warrior when its available.

keep up the good work. we need guys like you archer.

The art I have done for Cabarets is full-coverage side art, and up to
my normal production qualities. I did this because I personally don't
like wood veneer sided cabs of any size, and I fully admit this isn't
entirely original !

I also did a batch of normal Missile command Mini CPO's ... and then
decided I thought they looked a bit bland against the glorious side
art, so I created a brand new design CPO based on the more colourful
upright CPO and adapted to fit a mini CP metal.

The resulting MC mini looks absolutely stunning in my view, and once
people have seen the result with their own eyes they too love it ! I
don't know why Atari didn't do it themselves back in the day.

I would do a run of authentic mini-centipede art if I thought it was
financially feasible but sadly I bet only 2 or 3 folks would want it,
and then only expect to be paying peanuts for it too. Correct me if I
am wrong though !!

Cheers
Arch
