When I founded Arcade Renovations LLC, I had one goal in mind: to provide
arcade game artwork to fellow collectors, affordably. Almost 6 years later,
I feel I have done that and more. I won't claim that AR changed forever the
way we buy and sell arcade artwork today, but I am pretty confident it did
have some type of influence in doing so, and I believe it helped set a
standard for what's expected in terms of quality, if nothing else.

For those of you who know me well, this won't be a shock. I have wanted to
get to this point for almost 3 years and have come close on more than one
occasion. In all cases, circumstances made it such that I am still here
standing..for one last day.

So, it is official. Arcade Renovations LLC, the company will be dissolved
tomorrow. The domain name, website along with its inventory has been sold to
Quarterarcade.com LLC run by Anthony Pietrak and James Bright. In 6 years of
buying and selling, I have met and dealt with hundreds of people, both
collectors and vendors. Sadly, the people I have come to befriend and trust
match evenly the 5 fingers of my left hand (or right one for that matter).
Both Anthony and James are among those 5, so I feel very fortunate that they
are taking over.

I'm sure most of you know that Arcade Renovations was never more than a side
business for me. The past couple of years have been difficult in terms of
finding the time to manage it effectively. My full time job is very
demanding and wanting to spend more time with my wife and my baby has made
this decision a "no brainer".

I can't say I won't miss it because part of me will, but this is the right
decision for me and my family. So, I guess the only thing left for me to do
is thank all of you for your continued support over the years. I won't
mention names in fear of missing too many of them...but you all know who you
are. Keep collecting and keep the hobby alive for many years to come. I know
I will make every attempt do my part.

Quarterarcade.com will re-open the Arcade Renovations website shortly and
plans to continue to provide the same quality and service you have come to
expect. Also, new products will be added in the coming months.

Philippe,

I don't think I've ever bought any of your work directly; however, I've
read your postings for years. Thank you for supporting the hobby with
your artwork. It's made our projects look great and made it a fun
hobby. It also gave us a final product that looked good enough to pass
the "wife test" so we could bring it into the house.

Thanks for all you've done for the hobby Philippe, your artwork will live on
for decades on many of our machines! And your fast and friendly service has
always been great, I think everything I ordered arrived in my mailbox with
3-5 days, sometimes faster. -dan

Yes no kidding you changed the landscape.Anyone whose been in the hobby more
than 5 or 6 years must remember when the only replacements you could get
were hard to find, expensive and often krinkly NOS items. I remember
offering someone $150 bucks for one side of wrinkled NOS Donkey Kong
sideart, and the seller being insulted. If you had done nothing but create
your Donkey Kong and Dragons Lair artwork you would have done the hobby a
great service. As it is you will be greatly missed.

No wonder the site was down, I was hoping for some sort of holiday sale
on Donkey Kong Jr. sideart.

Anyway, Philippe, it looks like more people consider you a friend than
you consider friends?

Have a good one!!!

Philippe is one of the people that I trust as well - in all our dealings,
both as a seller and a buyer, he was aces.
All the best to you, enjoy the family, and remember - spend as much time as
you can with the kid for 2 reasons - they grow so fast they seem to
disappear, and they pick your nursing home :)
take care Philippe, and if you ever need anything just holler

Fare well, Phillippe! It's been a pleasure doing business with you and
your products have always been a benchmark for others. Take care of that
family, games will always be around when you have time again in the
future :)

Thanks Philippe for everything you have done to make my games look like
new again. You will be missed but it sounds like we will be in good
hands with Quarterarcade and all the others that also supply us with
top notch products. Sadly their was never enough interest in getting
you to make M.A.C.H. 3 side art for my upright laser game but maybe
someday somebody :-)
Good luck and enjoy life

Glad to see I wasn't the only one that felt a little snubbed with his
comment about having only 5 good customers..........I have to agree
with Tim on this one. Good luck anyway Philippe- you didn't make my top
5 suppliers either for that matter! ;-)

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I certainly appreciate it. For those of
you who didn't understand the "befriend and trust" comment.... let me
clarify. I have have been friendly with many people on this newsgroup but
when I said that I trusted 5 peolpe, I didn't mean that only 5 people could
be trusted. I meant that among the people I got to know well (and I mean
well), only 5 of them earned my trust. I am sure if I had a chance to get
the know a handful of other better, they would have earned it as well. Also,
by trust I don't mean trusting someone to send you a part after you've paid
them... I mean trusting them with much more than that... something that
really matters, like dumping thousands of dollars worth of artwork in
someone's truck who's just offered to ship your orders for a month or more
because something horrible just happened to you.

Phoenixarcade.com would not be possible without Philippe. After having
gone through some frustrating experiences as a loyal customer with
arcadeshop.com (steven gregory) I found Arcaderenovations.com

Ironically my first order was really screwed up with Philippe. But it
was how he handled it that caught my attention. Unlike arcadeshop.com
screwing up my orders and not doing anything about it. Anyways, I
became Philippes biggest rgvac cheerleader for a long time. He offered
us another choice besides arcadeshop AND at much lower prices. Everyone
remembers when he came out with DK side art and blew us away. Repros
could be high quality and affordable. He helped many of us make a lot
of money through restorations. And what he did for the Laser Game
community is incredible.

Philippe encouraged and help set up a meeting with his printer in Las
Vegas while we were at CGE so I could get my feet wet in repros. Months
later my products began selling on his website. Through major growing
pains and the difficulty of shipping with the explosive release of
Multi Williams artwork, we had a falling out and Phoenixarcade.com was
born. Philippe and I have long since repaired that public falling out
and still regret our actions. Bridges burned can be rebuilt.

Looking forward there have been many changes in both of our lives, all
positive. Philippe is making a wonderful decision to spend more time
with his family. Most people dont understand the time commitment
involved in running a business like this and the strain it can put on
your real job and family. Yes this is a business run for profit, but at
an expense. I can tell you if Philippe had no love for the hobby, then
none of this would have been possible.

All the best to the Bourdon family. I'm sure we havent heard the last
from him.

You'll be sorely missed. Thank you for the beautiful DL Scorepanel,
Marquee, sideart and Donkey Kong sideart. Beautiful work and I am
saddened yet understand your decision.
Thanks for some beautiful work, steadfast presence and a fantastic
resource while it lasted. Thanks for the excellent customer service.
Best of luck to all your endeavors in the New Year and beyond.

I've bought art from Philippe on several occasions--it was the best on
the market, bar none. Arcade Renovations was always my first choice for
reproduction artwork.

Thanks for your hard work over the years, Philippe. You'll definitely
be missed--but you made a great choice for your successors--James and
Anthony have the same kind of dedication to the hobby that you do.
