This was my first visit to the Atlanta auction, and knowing that
nobody usually takes prices down here, I went ahead and scribbled them
down. This was a very small auction, and there seemed to be more dead
games than working games. Considering it was a small auction, there
was a LOT of absolute junk, but there were also good deals. From what
I was told the auctions here are usually much larger.

All I was really interested in was the candy cabinet with the CPS2 in
it, and I promised myself before the bidding started that I wouldn't
go past $350. Wouldn't you know it, I got into a bidding war with
another guy and we took it all the way to $350; I barely won it and
now and felt pretty lame for having waged war for the stupid thing.
Dude, if you're reading this, I'm sorry it came to that. But anyway, I
also met a lot of people from the newsgroups, which was cool.

Thanks for posting this. I was curious what they had there, but I
didn't want to drive 2.5 hours each way. I've never been to one of
these auctions and I figured I should learn more about what things are
worth before I go.

What things are 'worth' and 'auctions' have nothing in common :)

Wow, a lot of cheap/dead stuff. This must have been a Super Auctions
right?
Good way to get lots of parts. Just bring a sledge hammer with you!
Buy the junk $1 cabinets, strip, then smash and right into the
dumpster.

I was tempted to bid on the Power Stone with a blurry monitor, just to
rip the Naomi out and dump the rest. It went for $50, you can't really
go wrong there. But yeah, Super Auctions seems to be where arcade
games go to die.

How often do they have these auctions?

That was the candy you bought? Any pic's? They are few and far at
the auctions I hit, but still on the list of "to get". Congrats.

Super Auctions does the Georgia one 2 or 3 times a year. They come
back October 20. Rushton Mill is a pretty cool place to check out,
even if you don't win anything.

I'm liking the candy so far; I spent hours dismantling the platform
the previous owner installed under the cabinet, but the end result is
that it looks much more authentic. I'll take some pics soon. The
cabinet is called "Crowin Case" and has a marquee that says "Neo-
Mechanism Video Game". Also, as with other Korean, Taiwanese, and Hong
Kong candies, there is a lot of wood used than in Japanese cabinets in
order to cut costs. But it has the same features you'd expect in all
candies, like standard cut control panels, easy-access monitor
adjustments, and a 29" rotatable monitor.

Who got that neat-looking Netherlands cabinet with the light-up
buttons and glittery black paint?
