I was told there's a way to overclock/speed up games in Mame, and I
have a Hyperspin Mame machine. I'm mainly asking about this, as the
first two Double Dragon games both run painfully slow on it
(especially the second one), and I tried to look for an overclocking
option to speed them up, and make both games fully playable, but
couldn't find one. I did increase the frame skip during the games,
which helped a little (and did so to the fullest), but still didn't
make either game fully playable, as they both still ran way too slow
during most parts of the game with the frame skip turned up all the
way. I also looked for an overclock option in the slider controls, and
pressed the F6 cheat button to see if that would take me to being able
to do so, along with pressing the tilde key, but nothing came up at
all for such an option with either of those scenarios. If anyone here
can help with this, please let me know A.S.A.P., and thanks in advance
for any help/advice as always.

There is no way to speed up Mame. You need a faster computer.

Thanks, and I was curious if there was anything I could do about it,
since I saw there were ways, but didn't find any on my particular
computer. I thought mine was fast, since it's new, and all, and
hopefully there's other things I may be able to do about it, somehow.

F10 unthrottles, but I think that will cause the game to run as
quickly as the machine will let it go... In most cases that is
unplayably fast.

You didn't mention the speed of the PC you're using. If other
similar-era games are running fine, you might have some kind of
configuration issue.

If you're running on a modest spec machine and lots of later games are
running slow, you can always revert back to an earlier version of
MAME. Versions below .100 (actually like .102 or whenever the sound
was overhauled) run a lot faster.

I'm running MAME 84 on a really old Pentium 3 machine and all the
Golden Age and most of the 90's stuff (Capcom beat 'em ups like
Punisher and scrolling shooters like Mars Matrix) runs great on it.

It's a Dell PC, and it seems to be pretty fast for the most part, and
I don't use it to go on the internet, or anything like that, so it
should run fine. How could I possibly get to the part where I can
overclock the games to make them run faster in Mame/Hyperspin? I was
told there's a way to do it, but still can't find the option on how to
do so, and solve those slowdown issues.
