Hey Guys,

I bought a pair of California Speeds, had to fix a couple minor
issues, (replace a flourescent fixture, new cmos batteries blah blah)
anyways here's my problem.

On one of the machines, during the controls test the gas pedal works
perfectly, yet during a game, when it's doing the 3-2-1 countdown the
gas pedal registers and fluctuates perfectly, but as soon as they yell
"GO!" the speed drops down to nothing, and i can't get it to work at
all.

what am i missing? since it works in test, why wouldn't it work in the
game?? someone please help :)

Thanks!

Eric

Brake would be my guess to. I had one that wouldnt steer in game mode.
Finely figured out that the front wheels wont spin when the brake is
on.

that's one of the weird problems, the wire was cut to the brake pedal,
and when i hooked it back up it was doing this as well, so i figured
that was the problem,
i guess i should test the pot on the brake pedal?

How is the best way to figure out if it's defective or not?

Thanks for the insight guys

Eric

Had the exact same problem, and cutting the brake pedal out fixed it!
Who uses the brake pedal anyway? :-)

it is the brake trimpot. i had the same problem with mine. you CAN NOT
disconnect it as the game still will not work correct when you press
gas. it will fluctuate.
if u look at how its wired, brake and gas work off of eachother in
relevance to impedance.

I have the same problem with one. We changed the pot but after 24hrs
it will come up with the same symptom. Any other ideas? Thanks,Dave

We disconnected the pot for the brake and seems to be fine now.
