rust removal help needed

Hi, I have a PCB that has a bit of rust on one of its components. This
type of component can be found on many boards. It looks like a small
metal rectangular box with black inscriptions on it. Although I am
unfamiliar with this product, I thought of using "naval jelly" on it.
Has anyone tried that before? If the jelly comes in contact with the
board, will it damage it? What do you guys use to take rust off
components and connectors? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you
very much.
