The diameter is 6" it is 8 ohms
What speaker would be good to install without blowing the amp or sound
board?

A 5 to 10 watt speaker should be fine, the speaker will not damage the
amp if it is the correct resistance, rather the amp will blow out the
speaker if it is too low a wattage for the volume you want.
If you identify the audio output setup you can figure out the maximum
wattage speaker needed. If a transistor amp, then the voltage swing
(+/-) will give an idea of the output capability - usually 12V which
makes a 10 watt speaker usually just fine.
These machines are not THAT loud normally.
