By the way, one of the movies I rented was Maximum Overdrive (nice Star
Castle bit, as well as a peek at a Tempest cocktail and a couple others),
Rocky III (proto Rocky pin (I think), Playboy pin, Star Castle, and some
others), and one of the James Bond movies, Never Say Never Again (I think).
From this thread, I'll attempt to generate an accurate list of movies and
what games were in them.

I'll bet E.T. did too...
And of course, Tron had to have a couple (in amongst the imaginary ones

Wargames. Galaga.
Cloak and Dagger. Duh! :)

Okay, just got off the VCR, these are all the games I could make out on my
copy of the Tron movie:
Space Wars
Battlezone
Both a 2 and 4 player Atari Football
Rally X
Asteroids Deluxe
Tailgunner
Sprint 2
Berzerk
and Atari Basketball
The rest I couldn't make out...and for pinballs, I don't know my pinballs
enough to even try a stab at them...

I definetly remember the Atari 2600 in E.T.
Also what was the Movie (from 1983) where a kid living in a trailer
park gets a high score on an arcade game and then gets abducted by
aliens (who sent the game to earth) to fight some war? Damn, I
watched part of it for the first time yesterday and can't remember the
name! Something Star Fighter maybe? Was the game he played actually
a released coin op?

The Last Starfighter.

Yes.

No. Didn't make it past minor development. Atari couldn't deal with the
losses in the industry, and the licensing would have been a bitch.
According to Nolan Bushnell, the game was never released, although bits of
it may have made it into later games.

additions that I've seen in this thread), and you can send e-mail confirmations

This is my list of movies which contain video games in them. While most
movies only have brief shots of the arcade game mentioned, some movies get
a good shot of the game's cabinet and/or screen.
>:-( means that the movie writers showed a complete lack of knowledge about the
game, either by mentioning an incorrectness in game play, or by dubbing other
video game sounds over the actual game sounds.
I have not personally seen all the movies below, so confirmations of the ones
with "?" beside them or or additions to the list below would be appreciated
(especially for the movies where I don't list any specific games).
If you have any additions or corrections, please send me an e-mail. I post

I've also considered TV show appearances too. I know Silver Spoons had
games, I just don't remember which ones. Of course Seinfield (as much as I
dislike the show) had one. It's in the list.

I remember there being a "Gorf" on Silver Spoons. There were a few others,
as well, but I don't remember which ones. The Gorf was a major part of the
opening credits, with the butler playing it and getting caught.
I was re-watching Red Dwarf alst night, and I saw a cabinet in "Confidence
and Paranoia," but couldn't identify it.

WHAT?!! The butler? That was Dexter...he was Rick's dad's ( Ed Stratton?)
accountant or lawyer or something. There was also a Pac or Ms. Pac. Why won't
they bring that show back in syndication??? Phenomenal show.
Also, Saved by the Bell always had games in the diner. (I accidentely saw it
one time when I was flippin channels :)

Should I get the chance, I'll check it out from the library and give you a
list.
Fast Times At Ridgemont High: Warrior was there too- even a shot of the
screen
Bustin' Loose- (Richard Pryor comedy, one of his best)- A Sprint 2, I think.
The kids play it when they're supposed to be in bed.
I saw an episode of the A-Team a few months ago
on FX, and I think they were in a diner or some
eatery, and right behind the characters was a
Space Invaders.
What was original about this, is that the
SPACE INVADERS on the glass had been covered
up by some other "made up" name.

I think it was the first episode that showed him dancing to the opening music
of Pac-man. That scene was used on the opening sequence for a year or two.
His dad's name was Ed (actually Edward)
Fred
A while ago I was watching the comedy channel and there was a movie on
with Emilio Estevez really young in an arcade after it was closed
playing a vector game (Zektor?). The game keep taunting him and
he did finally beat the game, at which point the cab exploded and the
main boss 'came to life' and was attacking him and the rest of the
arcade games. I remember centipedes getting blow up.
Emilio was running around this arcade with this vector boss chasing
him around blowing up things. He left the arcade and that was when I
had to leave. Never did find the name of it.

I accidentally watched Chips this morning, and Grossman was playing
Defender. Seems all the motor cops were having a contest, and
Grossman was the winner with a whopping 48000+ score. If it was'nt
for the cool music, that show would be lame. :>

A lot of Data East games.. Bad Dudes, and some others
Anyway, in one scene Pee Wee walks into a truck stop (after getting a ride
from Large Marge the ghost trucker) and there is a great shot of an
Asteroids upright.
In "Street Fighter" (live action, not anime) the "computer" that bison
uses to control the "stealth boat" is actually A Super Street Fighter
2:Turbo Control panel. complete with 2 player 6 button config.
There's a Darkstalkers and several more games on the Merry Go Round
Scene In "The Net".
One of the Death Wish (3 or 4?) had several scenes with games in it,
as did the opening to Rocky 3 where Polly smashes the Rocky Pin.
"Greatest American Hero" had an episode dealing with an arcade, lots
of games in that, I definatly remember a Donkey Kong.
There was an episode Cagney and Lacey where the 2 sons are playing
"Cosmic Avenger" on the coleco vision, but the sounds to the game are
that of Galaga.
"The Wizard" had lots of PLay CHoice 10s, but I've been told there
were other Nintendo Produced games, but I don't recall any.

Terminator 2 stuff is obvious, but you missed the arcade games in the first
Terminator! As they are walking into the motel, you can see a small arcade to the
