Hello,

I was curious if anyone here had purchased the classicarcadegrafix
art work file library ? If so please give some feedback on this item.
Very interested to know what you really get in the kit.

thanks, Rich

I think you can ONLY buy the whole library now for $6000+.

Hey Bill, It shows a price now of $999 on there now for the entire
library. Figured maybe someone might have picked this up. Maybe not.

I don't think anyone on this group would spend the money on that kit. Most
of that art was taken from online sources and you could find it yourself. A
little research, effort and basic skill with adobe products and off you go.
While I agree that it would be interesting to see what they offer in the
kit, I doubt you'll get your monies worth.

Yea, they dropped it to a grand. I would love to see this make it to
bittorrent or something. There are going to be copyright issues with
anyone who tries to sell it.

Once its out there, its out there forever. I wish I had a grand to
spare to make that happen.

Would actually be nice to see someone with some attention to detail in
producing artwork buy these files and provide better quality artwork to
all of us than classic arcade grafix ever put out. They had a pretty
extensive library it was just that everyone hated there end product
result.

Yeah, the colors were almost always off...lines way too thick...
materials stank, sizes were dong wrong, etc.

I hated the fact that so many people went there anyway, simply because
they had the "obscure stuff". It saddens me that people would rather
have bad art that won't last at all over simply waiting for NOS to show
up.

Big part of the reason I've started selling artwork. At least they can
get the NOS stuff if I happen to have it.

I'm curious if they've sold any of these artwork file packages? Anyone
willing to say they have?

I agree and have always wondered if they just found the artwork
on-line, etc. A fair amount is probably from other sources,
including collectors. I know I scanned some manuals years ago
and they magically showed-up on several sites (for sale!).

Someone highly trusted could always hit up the group for a few $ per
person and buy the kit. Then distribute copies amonst the contributors.
Shouldn't be too hard to put something like that together.

I heard that Scott! I scanned quite a few pieces of artwork and spent
hours fixing it only to find out it was for sale. Not the original
artwork but the stuff I scanned and edited. Including the defects I
left in there (by accident of course).

I wouldn't do anything to allow arcadegrafix to profit from selling
artwork they collected with an offline browser. They don't deserve $1k
for that especially because they don't even have the rights to sell it.

I'd be interested in seeing someone buy it and then "return" it via
their money back guarantee policy.

You would have to use Pay Pal so you could put a claim in and get back your
money as they are definatly in copyright infringement by selling the
artwork. I had asked them to remove several items they hijacked that I
worked on and they refused. I recommend caution before sending money.
