Thanks go out to all those who documented this procedure, and thanks to Mike
Haaland for giving me the desire to try it. I did ground the anodes on both
before starting my work and heard the pop on the tv's anode. Oh, the TV had
a manufacture date of 1985 so i figured I was in good shape. was a no-name
brand tv and tube.
WOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the easiest way is just put the old tube in the TV. After all
it is a tube *swap*, no? :) Then dispose of it as you would a broken
TV. They still pic them up here on trash day, so out to the curb they
go.
