Lets take a poll and see how many of us here would be interested in
buying Arcade posters if they are repro'd by someone out there.

I know i am in for almost any type of Classic posters made. (Tempest,
Centipede, Pacman)

Anyone else want to jump in?

Lets try to get someone to repro these.

Thanks

As I said in a thread above, depending on the titles and
quality of the repros, I would consider several.

Quality to me means it looks dead on to the original,
doesn't look like it was printed on someone's home
printer, the colors are correct, size is exact, it's
not grainy, etc.

I'd buy if the price were right.

So exactly how many posters would lets say Phoenix Arcade need to have
pre-ordered before they would take on a run of lets say Pacman or
Tempest posters.

I know there at least 6 interested thus far.

Maybe a Tempest.

We would consider doing a run of posters and seeing how they sell. At this
point we would need an original poster to work from. I would think
something like Tempest would be a good first project.

Contact me if you can provide a Tempest poster to work from.

I'd be more than happy to make my Joust available. But as I said, it
is a little crinkly, but not folded, so it should look fine flattened
out. Also, there are pin holes in the corners.

Oh, and also, yes. I too would be interested in repros of arcade
posters. One of everyone ever made.

I'll donate a hi-res scan (not the poster itself) of my Tempest poster
for reproing if it eventually gets the me copies of the last few
posters I need. Namely Joust, Missile Command, Night Driver, and
Centipede are the ones I'm still looking for.

Here's a pretty complete list of posters I do have for reference for
any other future projects. Most are visible in the gameroom photos on
my website at http://80sarcade.com. All are the real deal and I've
spent several thousand easy on eBay aquiring them.

Tempest
I,Robot (super rare!)
Battlezone
Gravitar
Dig Dug
Space Duel
Star Wars (Atari)
Asteroids Deluxe (with and without high score area)
Midway "Games of Fame" - (tron, galaga, pacman, etc)
Dragons Lair (Bluth still sells these)
Space Ace (Bluth still sells these)
Sprint (very large)
M.A.C.H. 3
Star Trek - strategic operations simulator
Pac man - "we've got to stop eating like this"
Pac man - hallmark
Pac man - Bally/Midway promo
Pac man - 2600 promo
Tron 2.0 (large game poster)
Tron - 20th DVD release poster
Tron - See the movie, play the game
Tron (several huge Italian posters)
Video Fever - cool blacklight flock poster!
Atari Age
Sears Tele-Games (2600) promo
Phoenix

Anthony, please also think about adding my House Rules sign to your
list!

He scanned a bunch of my posters, so yeah. Ask which ones he's doing. I
think he scanned my Asteroids Deluxe poster, maybe the Gravitar and a
few others. And I scanned the I,Robot poster for him.

Yup - Peter kindly allowed me to scan a few when I was over at his
amazing arcade place last month. I'll do these as my next big set of
projects, but I've got my work cut out for the next few weeks for
sure.

I have a few also, such as a mint Joust poster sent to me by the games
designer ( I know him through business, but he said he had a load of
old Williams stuff and was throwing it out !). Amazingly he just sent
me a huge box of ultra collectible stuff (to me anyway - since I was
coding games for Atari back in the day). This included all the Joust
source code, all the original artists pencil drawings for the joust
marquee, and all the films for the side art and cpo etc. Plus some
really rare bits n bobs like a NOS mystic marathon CPO and loads more.

ok so i'll have to say.. if there were eve a candidate for 'crappy
inkjet' art, this would be it.
i say 'crappy' because regardless of the quality, people will discount
them as crappy.

so anyhow... printing at 1440 dpi with solvent based inks on adhesive
paper runs about $7-12 a sq foot.

printing on glossy paper would undoubtedly cost less per square feet.
i think based on the relatively low demand for quanitity, you might be
betteroff going one off on these or printing right to digital press
(same printing they use for promotional postcards.)

here's prices for poster printing for both offset and digital prints
with the lowest quantity being 500 pieces.

http://www.orange32.com/print/posters.html

you'd be looking at just over $2 a piece for a 24x36 poster. now figure
if you were willing to pay 5-10 per... could sell them for 15-20 bucks
each (which i think it a little high) you'd still be able to cover your
cost.

once i find the info for the place i get my stuff printed at, one
off... you coudll literally send them every posted you wanted printed,
and get them done for about 10-15 each.

i'll be happy to work on some retouching of posters.. (removing
creases, rips, etc.) being somewhat of a photoshop expert. if someone
wants me to take on a poster or two that haven't been done yet, just
shoot me an email.

k.

That's a great list of posters. Here are mine (unfortunately,
I don't have the ones that will get reprinted.... wait a
minute... maybe that's good....). :) I've like to see the
Gravitar, Tempest and Star Wars gets done, since those are
what I've mostly been hunting for. Oh, Joust would be great
too.

Dragon's Lair
Space Ace
Cliff Hanger
Dig Dug
Kangaroo
Centipede
Millipede
Asteroids Deluxe (with high score chart)
Missile Command
BattleZone (Yes, I found another!!!)
Star Trek
Midway Games of Fame
TRON (Movie Poster)
TRON (See the Movie, Play the Game)
TRON (Intel - It's Your Movie, Oct. 1982)
TRON (The Electronic Gladiator - smaller
movie poster)
Pac-Man (not common version, but defintely
Pac-Man by Midway, 1980)
Burgertime
Time Pilot '84

Somewhat along the same line- I'd like one of the Galaga promo signs
promoting the movie "War Games" that sits atop the machine.

Anyone, anyone?

Does anyone have a good scan of a Tempest or Centipede Poster? I've
been wanting to test some print jobs on our Large Format Plotter to see
how they would come out but I don't have a scanner big enough to scan
my posters. I think they might come out looking pretty good and they
would be cheep, I think the cost of material per poster would be about
3 or 4 bucks, max. Once the files is laid out and saved it's just a
matter of printing them as needed.

I have a Tempest poster that I've already volunteered to scan for
Anthony. I was going to scan it in pieces and stitch them. It's a
pretty large poster. I suppose I could ask around to see if someone has
a big mo-fo scanner that would be large enough.

Speak to the host of localarcade.com and have him create a new
