Any Hans' Football wasn't $50 either (it was $75). And he picked it up
himself. The next day. Nothing wrong with getting a great deal, when you
abide by the seller's rules.

Profit makes the world go 'round. But the fact of the matter is that
he's attempting to make a transaction starting with dishonesty.
He states a condition he cannot vouch for and lays claim to "turning
the deal over" and "just wanting out of it" and starting a relationship
with dishonesty does no good deed to the buyer.
Not to mention he took a stab at me. which will also not go
unrewarded. So Gooooooooooooooly Sgt. Carter... here is what *I* would
do if *I* were interested.
I would email the seller everything you stated here. Then I would
*offer* he/she 100-150 to refund your monies, report you as a
non-paying bidder and sell it outright to me for the price mentioned
above. After all there is nothing wrong with him wanting to make a
profit right? And I doubt he would appreciate knowing of this as well.
Gee Gomer.. I hope I didn't give out any good ideas...
You want to buy/sell thats your business but don't come here and
attempt to use your "reputation" to levy a 350% markup on an item you
do not posess, cannot vouch for the condition of, and "just want out

I can vouch for the condition. The seller has e-mailed me pics and I've
spoken with him directly over the phone. Get a clue asshole. It is also true
that I am turning a deal over to somebody else. Nowhere did I state that I
was not making a profit. I didn't twist anybodies arm to e-mail ma about it.
I STILL set the price WELL below market value for somebody else to have some
room in the piece. This game is still a good deal. If not, why did I get
about a dozen seperate e-mails from people last night?

Dude you don't even make sense. I didn't set the sellers price. He did. You
actually suggest that the seller send MY money back AND report me as a non

Oh, and who cares if Hans O's cocktail table was $50, $75, or whatever? He
still bought it for well below market value and didn't inform the seller

It would be one thing if you got a good deal on the game, picked it up,
checked it out and cleaned it up and turned a profit but to make a
profit just getting out of a purchase that you no longer want...
I think another poster hit the nail on the head, e-mail the original
seller and make on offer on the game and tell him to refund the buyer
that no longer wants it.
Wait a minute, we don't really know that. First off, it was an eBay
auction. Everyone had an equal opportunity to BIN and grab this one.
Apparently Brian got there first. Second, you don't know what has
transpired between Brian and the original seller. It could be that
Brian told him the game was worth 20x what he was asking, and offered
to bring a bit more for him by taking it to RGVAC. It could be the
seller said he didn't care but said it was ok if Brian wanted to keep
the difference. You just don't know.
Nor should you care. Hey it's a complete Warlords CT for $275. Hello?
Look I've had a few dealing with Brian and Ken in the past with no
complaints about price, quality, or shipping. If it were me I'd be
willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Brian for generating interest in this thread. Good place to
advertise my new football game:
Hey everybody, I bought a 2-player Atari Football for 75 bucks. It was
picked up from the seller (just like it stated in the auction) at his
family's service station in Saukville, Wisconsin (the land of cheese).
It's in very nice condition, maybe close to a 9. I'm going to resell it
for a nominal profit (all hail capitalism). I may fix it or sell it as
is. Anybody interested please contact me. Interesting trades always
considered.
Thanks, Hans O in Chicago
I think its the wording of your post that might be rankling people. It
makes it sound like you can't or don't want to complete the transaction
and you are just passing this deal on to another collector. The
impression is that you are passing it on for what you got the deal for
itself because you don't want to hassle with shipping. The deal is
still a great one - $225 for a Warlords cocktail. And you should know
by now that on this group someone will likely to have seen the auction
and link it to this transaction. Just be more forthright. "Hey guys,
saw a great deal, bought it to make a profit. I'm passing it on at a
profit to me and still a great deal for the new buyer." That is what it
is. And technically, you violated the auction and the seller could
repost since the auction said "PICK UP ONLY".
Just an observation. Like I said, this is still a great deal for
someone.

He is legitimately taking his profit based on being in the right place at
the right time and grabbing the piece before anyone else did. His cost has
no bearing on his selling price as far as the second buyer is concerned.
The game either is or is not worth $275 to the second buyer, and thats all
there is to say.
As far as cleaning it up, checking it out, etc, of course that would have
been an option; so would an asking price of $550 or so.
This whole thing about profit being justified only by physical work, etc is
absurd. Profit is also justified by investing funds and taking risk. That
said, the underlying idea is that profit does not have to be justified - the
act of making a profit is possible only if the marketplace itself justifies
it, and thats all that is needed
Happy Easter, Passover, etc all

Yea, I can tell after owning nearly 600 machines, restoring about 400,
buying, selling, and trading for over 6 years now. I think I'm qualified to
tell condition based on the seller, pics, and good instincts. Besides, I'm

Non omission? Wouldn't a NON omission be an inclusion? Or are you just too
stupid to understand. But as for the omission, I never omitted anything. I
was basically none of everybodies business what I paid for it. The post

Just seems unfortunate that more people would not be willing to pass
along a good deal when they decide the purchase wasn't right for them
especially when you are not out any time or effort. So somebody into
collecting classic games misses a local opportunity but now has to pay a
fellow collector unwilling to take delivery of a game a premium. I have
been fortunate to find others in the hobby that are glad to pass along
information and a good deal if the buy isn't right for them.
I have no issue making a profit, I just notice there are those on here
with a passion for restoring and protecting old arcade games and those
that prefer turning profits. I once bought a Karate Champ on E-bay for
$61 and before I could even get out to pick it up I had another E-bayer
begging to buy it from me because he didn't win the bidding. I could
have turned a quick profit without lifting a finger but restoring the
game meant more to me than $$$.
Good luck with the sale, I would wager that anyone in the area able to
pick up and was looking for the game would have bid higher. Maybe you
would have better luck putting it up on E-bay yourself than posting to
fellow collectors that most likely saw and passed on it the first
time... just a thought.
P.S.
I don't remember posting that you needed to ask permission for anything,
but I appreciate that you took the time to point it out as if I was
actually somebody worth defying... LOL
You are such a liar...always have been and always will be I guess.
Five years ago when I met you your collection consisted of a dedicated
Major Havoc and about no more than 4 or 5 other games. Remember, you
had to sell your entire collection of 7 games to get the MH from Darin?
And you had just recently acquired those because you had to sell the
few you had while going through your divorce except the Star Wars of
course.
So you've maybe sold 40 or 50 games on the NG (giving a generous number
here) and another 30 or 40 on eBay over the past 4 or 5 years.
So that means that either you currently have around 500 games in your
collection or you sold that many locally. What a hoot!
Yeah, I know your 5'5" inch self is going to threaten to come down here
and bring your double mint twin looking brother and kick my ass. Hey,
that's another hoot!
Fact was and is, the auction clearly stated "pick up only" and you had no
intention of doing so. Sure you might have asked after you BIN and he
agreed, but if he said no, then what? Oh wait, next you're going to tell us
that you made those arrangements with him BEFORE you BIN. Yes, that's
right, you emailed him asking if he'd ship, and he emailed back saying he
would and then you BIN. Yes, I'm sure it still would have been there
waiting for you.
Joe
The fact is dumbass, that along with selling a ton of machines on Ebay weve
also sold a ton of them locally. That also doesnt take into account the tons
of machines that weve gutted and trashed through the years. We might list 1
fully restored Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac or Galaga on Ebay and get 1 top high
bidder but we also usually get several more sales off of the same auction.
It happens all of the time.
600 machines over 6 years is not that big of a deal when you are constantly
finding, trading, selling and smashing machine. It equates to less than 2 a
week on average and less that 8 a month. Weve done auctions back to back
within a month to six weeks time where we have loaded up full size budget
trucks with about 25-30 machines. Times that times 2 for two auctions and
that is about 50-60 machines in a six week time span. We dont do those
auction trips all of the time and havent done one recently but its been done
plenty of times before.
I would think that you would be one collector that would understand how easy
it is to pick up, go through, trade and trash machines but I guess you are
just trying to throw some more fuel on the fire in your typical dumbass
fashion. Hell, every time we went down to your place you had about 4-5
gutted and parted out machines sitting outside of your house. It aint hard
to accumulate, sell, trade and trash tons of machines Mcfly. Just this year
alone weve probably pulled at least 40-45 machines from a warehouse.
Its funny that you comment on my brothers height considering that you are
shorter that both of us. What does that make you, 5' 3"? Hahahaha.
More lying from a typical Alabama scumbag.
Were still waiting on you to finally do a drive and come up here, asshole.

I made ONE good trader post about you Mike and I'm sorry I ever did. Let me
just state for the official record that you are a bad trader. You pull games
from some warehouse somewhere. You barely get them running before trading
them off. Yes, they do work, but they usually have things wrong with them.
Things like certain sounds missing, wrong colors, controls that don't
properly work 100%, water damage that was not disclosed, etc, etc. In the
ammount of time it takes to work a full day, get the truck loaded, and make
the drive down to your place, we've barely got time to look at everything.
You were always rushing us along and complaining how late it was and how you
had to get to work in the morning. At that point, we'd already made the
drive and committed the time and gas to the situation so we completed trades
anyway. Like I'd said before, a few bad trades I can live with. Shit
happens. To be fair, not EVERYTHING was fucked up between us. But, with the
stuff that was messed up you basically called me a liar and told me tough
shit. That's hardly a good trader. You've been known for a long time on this
group to be mean spirited and always seem to take extra delight in picking
on people. Thats not a good trader either. You do indeed have an impressive
collection and thats part of the appeal to trying to be your friend. Knowing
where games are and having a person that you're on good terms with to make
trades is always a draw. But in reality, you're just too much of a real jerk
to deal with to make it work. Eventually, we just stopped dealing with you
because of it.
>

No, what the problem is is that you talk in half truths mixed in with your
own version of reality skewed to suit your point of view. I am not a liar
Mike. Anybody whos done business with me knows that. I've made plenty of
good trades with plenty of people so I can't be as bad as you're trying to
make me out to be. I've also got a perfect e-bay record so I must do a few
things right.
> Why would you try to pass along this auction anyway, even at a profit?

Because I felt like it. Plain and simple. So freaking what? People change
their minds all the time.

There was no crawfishing Mike. You won the Marble Madness from me. I wasn't
happy about the final price, but I was perfectly willing to complete the
deal. You, however, wanted us to deliver the game down to you for basically
what ammounts to around $20 or so. I told you that delivery fees are .50
cents per mile. You got all mad and accused me of jacking the delivery rates
up to cover the poor sale of my game. You wanted it delivered for cheap
since we had already delivered a bunch of other stuff to you for cheap. I no
longer felt like driving the 500 miles for next to nothing and simply asked
you to stick to the auction terms of .50 cents per mile as I've ALWAYS
spelled out in every auction I run. Since you insisted on buying the game
through e-bay and not with me outside of e-bay, I simply asked you to stick
to the auction terms. You got mad and said forget it. You backed out of the
deal. That is the total truth. However, you will most likely have your own
version of the story anyway. How can you honestly live with yourself knowing
the facts in your heart and yet you twist them to the group to make yourself
look better?

No excuses and no lies. Listen, Ken and I have already told you that any
time you feel like driving up here to settle your personal gripes with us,
you're more than welcome. Plain and simple. I mean, really, why run your
mouth sooo much on the keyboard and ACT like a man when you can simply drive
up here and prove it? Get it out of your system once and for all. Please.
Oh, and for the record, we have owned over 600 machines. I've had over 30
Donkey Kongs alone. You should ask Darin Jacobs how many sets of Tron art
we've bought over the years for those jobs. We buy, sell, and trade all the
time. This newsgroup and e-bay are but two means of trade. Anybody who knows
us knows the volume and quality of games we deal in. You hardly know what we
buy or sell as you don't know what anybody else buys or sells all the time
either. If anybody on this group is dumb enough to believe that you're that
smart to keep track of ALL the sales of everybodies games ALL the time, then
they're just as full of shit as you are. And if it's only us that you
delight in keeping close track of, number one you basically suck at it
because your numbers are WAY off. And, number two if you do try to keep that
close of a watch on us, that in itself should show just how truly creepy you
are.
Seriously Mike, of all the people on this group who are basically laughable
at best, it would be a delight if you showed up here to finally get your
anger out of your system. All of your anger Mike. Your hatred of blacks,
your hatred of us, your hatred of just about everybody in your life. Come
and get it all out. No, we're not going to drive down your way. We've done
enough drives for you. Besides, it's all you that seems to keep poking your
stick in this fire. So come up here and come get some. No more of your short
comments, no more BS replies about Shonies Big Boy, no more anything. Simply
just come get it or shut the fuck up and move on. You get no respect here at
all until you do.
I'll look back on it when I need another good laugh though.
Now, shouldn't you be resting up and getting ready for your big day
Monday? You have all those Easter cards to take off the shelves. You
still work for Hallmark?
I see a lot of little old ladies doing that now when I'm in the grocery
store.
Man makes money - oh the horror!
I really think this is all a jealousy thing - a bunch of you act like
fucking children at times!

Hey, why break the trend. You are the one who comes down here,
remember?
If you are in the hobby of collecting machines that were used to make
profit, and don't try to make a profit, or at least sell some games to
cover the cost of your own collection, well, don't you see the irony?
Like you say, you've done a lot of deals and met a lot of people. So
you might want to be careful before you start throwing out the slang
terminology about anyone from anywhere. Because anybody that has met
you has seen what you look like.
Most parents would keep the likes of you out of sight. That would
explain your lack of education as well as social skills in public.
Oh, and your brother that comes up to maybe my neck is taller than me?
Get your eyes checked out while you are at it.
Or have you been dressing the teddy bear up in high heels again?

admit that I am a bit overweight but Im hardly 350lbs. Im more like 6' 4"

second heart attack by now.
So where are you in life now Zinfer? Lost another job, lost your house
again, trying to pay for all those meds, still no girlfriend, or just
quoting texts from other sources trying to pawn them off as your own?
I've got to hand it to you though dude. Most of the world would have

No, I'm not going to spend anymore time arguing with idiotism like
yourself. I hope you and Brian and your sibling parents have a good
Easter holiday. Having egg on your face is kind of fitting in this case
And I hope Brian keeps his pants on in remembrance of where you like to
hide your Easter eggs.
But then again, you know this as you've been keeping yourself down your
whole life.
Your life is nobodys fault except your own. If you keep doing the same
things the same way, with no change, the end result will always be the
same. That means this time next year you will still be in the same
miserable financial situation that you are in now.
Lost job again, lost house, having to sell games will be just a few of
your headlines.
Which will be the worst part of this:
A. That somebody here will have to eventually read about it, or
B. That you still don't realize that the real problem is you?
I am sorry that you don't have your own family to spend holidays with,
or any money, or a decent job, or that you had to move in with your
dad. There is nothing that myself or anyone else here can do about
that.
But I will wish you a Happy Easter anyway and hope you can see your
trend and have the balls to make a change in it.

The only reason I know so much about you is because you post everything
that happens in your life right here on RGVAC. That's right, it's
archived here for anyone to see because you posted it.
Nor have I "raged on you" in a long time. You are the one that threw
the first stone in this feud BOZO. Kind of ironic ain't it?

And to diminish another notion, I haven't asked anybody to stand up for

You start an argument with me in an irrelevant thread saying that I've
treated you wrong? I can't even remember when the last time I had
mentioned you was.
First off you dumbass, you are going to take up for Brian and Ken who
pushed your face in the mud so far on this NG that even I felt bad for
you? Did you forget how bad they busted your ass a few years ago. It
was hilarious so I'm sure you remember. You dissappeared for like 6
months dude.
So now you are trying to take the lime light off your new want to be
pals, what this thread is really about, and point a finger at me?
Do you not think that anybody can see who is really trying to buy
friends with that list you just posted?
How many good trader posts have you had?
Keep digging for something Zinfer...you are getting nowhere fast. THEN
AGAIN, THAT IS THE STORY OF YOUR RGVAC DOCUMENTED LIFE.
[snip]
I'm only sad
because I can't include the name Carroll in that list. But that's the
difference between you and me. You pay for your friendship. They're
your pals because you may have a good deal to offer them whereas I
offer only my friendship and thanks to each and everyone of them.
[/snip]
OK, well, first off, you're implying that my friendship can be bought.
That's untrue and I take exception to that. I guess what you're referring
to is this: Mike and I had some very ugly words a couple years back,
starting with a misunderstanding and snowballing from there. Recently, he
needed something that I had... so, I figured "what the hell, water under the
bridge". Offered it to him at what I felt was a fair price and he accepted.
Two adults putting the past behind them. Do I consider him a friend? No, I
don't know that I'd go that far. I'd gladly trade with him again, though,
because he paid immediately, the communication was good, and his reputation
as a trader precedes him. All well and good.
You see, Rod, just because I've had a good trade with somebody from the
group, or friendly interactions with them doesn't mean that we're _friends_.
It takes more than that. Granted, I have made my fair share of real and
actual friends on the group, and that's marvelous too. I don't know that
I'd consider anybody on the group a real "enemy" either, because this is the
Internet and it's all one degree of bullshit or another anyway. And, since
we're talking, I don't consider you an enemy either. IIRC, a while back I
thought you blindsided and attacked me on the group, and I came back pretty
harsh before I realized my mistake. But, I said what I felt at the time...
basically that you needed to chill out a little bit with RGVAC being your
therapy session (although I'm sure I could have said it much more politely
than I did).
So here we are, some time later and, to be honest, I haven't been following
the soap opera... I actually don't read the newsgroup anywhere near as
closely as I used to. But, it would seem that you're still stuck in dire
straits, and fighting your personal war on several fronts. Really, I'm
sorry that life still isn't treating you that great, but you have persevered
thus far, so you should be proud of that. I couldn't possibly offer you
advice on how to better your situation, since I don't really know the whole
story... but maybe you should redirect some of your energies away from
verbally fencing with the "troublesome trio" on here and direct it into
getting your groove back?
Wise words and food for thought:
"The gods help those who help themselves." - Hercules (from an Aesop Fable)
"Nothing worthwhile is easy." - No clue
"The definition of 'stupid' is doing the same thing over and over and
expecting different results." - No clue here either
"If man makes himself a worm he must not complain when he is trodden on." -
Immanuel Kant
"People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with
mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents." - Andrew Carnegie
"Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don't bother just
to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than
yourself." - William Faulkner
"The great secret of doctors, known only to their wives, but still hidden
from the public, is that most things get better by themselves; most things,
in fact, are better in the morning." - Lewis Thomas
Look around, there are books filled with this stuff... I, for one, can't
read a handful of quotes like these and _not_ feel re-energized and
refocused. Really, good luck. Hopefully the next long ramble we get from
you will be filled with good news.
Not necessarily your "friend", but a fellow man,
Rob Carroll

Do you really think that I care enough what ANYONE thinks of me to bribe my
way into a good rep? I treat people well for several reasons 1: I genuinely
like them, based on the way they treat me and others 2:They have spent a lot
of money with me in the past and I reward loyal repeat customers 3:A
complete stranger will catch me in a generous mood 4: I see someone fighting

Tell ya what Zin, Ive got a really nice guest suite in my house with
its own private entry/exit, full bath, walk in closet and all the other
amenities one would need. Ill put you up for 30 days in my home here in
Chandler (phoenix) free of charge.
If you want a fresh start here it is. Phoenix is loaded with jobs. I
can even offer you a part time job at $10/hour while youre looking for
work. This isnt an offer to take a vacation however and I cannot
provide a car for you. If interested email me and we can work out the
details.
Otherwise I want no part of this thread, I participate in my own
battles enough. Plus Ive got friends on both sides of this issue and
many good points are made for either position. Its not black and white.
Only Brian and the seller really know whats going on. I wish the thread
would die.
darin
Wow, what a very nice offer. There you have it Zinfer, a open invite to
a fresh start. If you have nothing going for you right now, what do you
have to lose? Free rent and a 10/hr job for 30 days? You'd be fool to
pass it up. Hell, I'll even kick in $100 in gas money to get you on your
way.

OK, so you're in _really_ dire straits; here it is coming from your own
mouth (fingers). This isn't about "who's side I'm taking". Really, dude,
I'm sorry you're out of a home. I can't even imagine what that would be
like. Darin's offer is EXTREMELY generous and, hell, he's even offering you
a job (presumably) working on games!
Sounds like things can't get much worse for you right now. If I were in
your shoes, I'd take a gamble and try to start new... you've got nothing to
lose and much to gain. Arizona is cheap living; my brother lived there for
years and his house would easily cost over a million up here in
Massachusetts... and he paid less for it than I paid for my little one-story
ranch 7 years ago before the housing market went through the roof here.
Stephen even offered to pony up a C note to help you get there! Does
Greyhound still take you wherever you want for $69?
Hell, if nothing else, you can get away and get a fresh perspective for a
month.
