Just curious - when I auction flyers my description states "UK shipping $3".
Someone in Australia sent me $3 shipping for a flyer, I assume based on the
UK $3 line.
Where do I stand? For the record the difference in postage is only $1.05
and I am accepting this sale as a done deal, just want to know the correct
facts.
Thanks

items that I am buying or have bought or won on eBay.
If I have posted an item for sale or this is at the bottom of an email is in
reference to an item that I have for sale:
NY State sales tax of 7.25% applies to all sales shipped to a NY State
address or
picked up at my warehouse.

I think you'd be within your rights to ask for the additional money for
shipping, but would the potential negative feelings from the buyer be worth
a single dollar? I doubt it.. At any rate, for international shipping on
any of my auctions I simply ask the bidder to contact me if they are out of
the country and I can make the call then if I will ship to their country and
for how much.. I've shipped as far as Japan and China with no problems and
such bidders don't hesitate to contact you to make prior arrangements for
the most part.

Since the UK is really the United Kingdom of Great Brittain and Northern
Ireland I don't think Australia counts.

Really though... Australia is a Commonwealth country... they swear alegiance
(sp?) to the Queen... NOT to the UK... there is a difference... each country
(Realm) is self governing... the Queen happens to be Soverign of MULTIPLE
countries... each one independant (the last to go was Australia in 1986 I
believe).

So to answer your question... Australia is in no way part of the UK... they
just happen to have the same person as their Soverign.

steve.

PS: Thank our ancestors we're not part of that mess any more (not that I'm
anti-UK... I used to live there)

You know, I believe that Art was being sarcastic.

And people want to answer the obvious question.

Humm... didn't necessarily think it was totally obvious... up until 1986 the
British parliment had veto power over all Australian legislation... not
exactly independant countries.

No we are not part of the UK... although 200+ years later we are still
bending over taking it up the tailpipe from them... unlike America who
had the guts to fight for their independence.... what a pissy country
this is!!!

We can choose to delve deeper into this question... is say someone in
Peurto-Rico part of the US? We own their asses after all...

What about the US Virgin Islands... its a us protectorate... they're
citizens... do they have to pay international shipping?
