Last week, I asked if anyone had ever bothered to populate the X-CENTER
and Y-CENTER components on the Battlezone board in order to avoid
adjusting magnets on the monitor.

I tried this experiment last night, and it worked great. I populated
the boards with a 220K resistor and a 0.1uf capacitor, and a standard
10K trimpot, one for each X and Y, and the circuit works as expected.
The best part is that I didn't need to do any monitor fiddling to fix
it. It made it really easy to line up and size the radar scope to fit
the markings on the background art. If you have had any alignment
problems like this, give this mod a try. It will take you 5 minutes to
do the whole job, and under $2 in parts.
