I remember calling these fools MONTHS ago about the release date on
the PC version of the Williams Arcade compilation. (They usually told
me "by the end of the month") Recently theres been a pretty big thread
chatting about the whereabouts of this product.
Well? Ne1 heard anything? This is the last I'll care till I hybernate
for another 6 months and come out to see if it exists..
MS-Return of Arcade as well....
and maybe a date on this NAMCO emulator thing for the PC? (this has to
be a rumor..)
forgive me for starting this lame thread up again... But, service at
the local software stores has declined to the likes of a little
ceasers or a gas station..

Those "fools" have nothing to do with the delays. The package is being
distributed by GT Interactive (the guys who distribute Doom). It's out
of Digital Eclipse's hands. If you want to know why there's a delay, ask
GT.
Last I heard the thing was being geared up for pressing, the boxes had been
designed, the manual had been designed. That was a couple weeks ago
probably now. GT says on the shelves December 1.
Some at Digital Eclipse feel as frustrated and helpless about it as you are.
Digital Eclipse was the developer, but development is over with the package.
Even the nitty-gritty alterations to the legals are over.
(Yes, Digital Eclipse was responsible for a few of the delays in the beginnng,
like changing completion date from April to June/July when they decided to
add Sinistar/Defender II/Bubbles, and another change in schedule to do up
a bonus package to go with the thing, which brought it to August, but the
result is a better product. It wasn't just sitting on their shelves collecting
dust. As of Sept., development was done and GT took over on packaging, docs,
and distribution.)

I never heard about any Namco packages for the PC, just the PlayStation.
I'm sure the PC talk is either rumour or wishful thinking, but I can't see
it happening because Microsoft has the licence for the PC rights to Pac Man,
and Pac Man is part of the Namco arcade. At the very best, they'd have to
find a substitute.

Interesting....Here is how "Sue at Digital Eclispse" explains it...
Perhaps GT and Williams are connected in some way?? Or, perhaps Williams
is Publishing it, but GT is distributing it?? What would be the
difference? Do major titles usually have this many differing companies
handling the process? Perhaps they do...
Here is her E-Mail:
Hi there!
The Digital Arcade should be out sometime this fall for the Windows/DOS
format. Digital Eclipse is developing it, not publishing it, so we can't
give a positive date as to when it's coming out. William's Entertainment
will be publishing it. My educated guess is about a month.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Sue @ Digital Eclipse
I'm just curious...

But under DOS.......
Well it does exists and the beta is on my harddrive at the moment!!!!
The author is looking for a publisher, the package has a central emulation section that currently
handles muliple z80 and 6502`s each game has the rom code and a unique driver. Currently the
emualtor handles Pacman, Galaxian, Tron,Scramble, Amidar, Bagman, Vanguard,Frogger and Phoneix. Some
games (pacman, galaxian and tron) have sound through a gravis ultra sound. There is also a demo file
that plays the music from Nemesis (gradius). If somone has an ftp site / web page that they are
willing to donate some space I have a zip file of screen shots from the emulator which I can pass
for you all to see that this product is in development.
Cheers
