Cali Speed uses 2 different versions of the Seattle board. The
difference between the versions is the clock speed at which the game
runs. If the 2 games use different clock speeds, they won't link.
The easiest way to tell the clock speed is to power up each game
individually (or power them up together, just not linked). Make sure
the attract sound is turned on, and let the game run through attract
mode. If one of the games "transitions" from screen to screen quicker
than the other (you can tell by the music switching abruptly), then
that game's clock speed is greater than the other's.

I had this problem once, and it drove me nuts.

Mike
What about buying a hub or something that they talk about. Something
that both wires have to plug into. I do not understand why you cant
just plug the two in using the same telephone style cord? Why do you
need that spacer or whatever it is called and again, where can I buy
it?

Yeah, you need the crossover coupler thing. You can buy one at Radio
Shack if you need one. basically, each game needs to have a cat-5
cable run from it, and they both meet at the coupler. You can't just
plug one cord from one game to the other. I ahve no idea why you
can't do this... maybe someone out there who is more proficient in
computer jargon will know the answer.
