My frustration with the game grows each time I play it. The latest was the
Killing Time Kaleidescope ( or however the hell you spell that) of polygons.
I guess in a combination of turning around too fast and simultaneously
changing my line of view the game crashed and the board started breaking up
into polygons twisting, turning, and morphing all over the screen. Then after
a while I'd say the first two inches around the perimeter of my little 13in
tv were black. At center I could see a distant stretched out version of the
board. As I shifted right and left I started to see other boards that must
have been adjacent to each other. I tried to see what other boards I could
see and the screen went black. Finally, the 3DO logo came on and the game
rebooted.
Also once out of nowhere the game rebooted while I was walking down a
hallway (and I hadn't learned yet to save every 5 minutes). But here's the
kicker. I had all but two of the keys and couldn't remember the last time I
saved it when the polygon bug happened again. I quickly straightened myself
out and the perspective of the room was normal so I immeadiatley, and
foolishly saved it. As I tried to move forward the screen started going to
shit again. So I tried loading my file. Wouldn't you know it the board is
completely black except for a green horizantal stripe (approx. 1/2 in wide)
by where you can see the "status wings". I now see thes status wings and note
that I hav 20,000% health and full ammo in everything. I hit start to look at
the map it's blank except for my score which was ove 2 billion!!! The music
to circus mortus was going since it was the board I had saved on. I then
tried moving and as I turned my direction on the map turned but I was unable
to go forward in any direction. I then started playing with my weapons. This
was kinda fun. I put on the flame thrower and let it rip. Then I realized I
could zoom (move?) toward the flame and not get hurt by it. I was able to
turn and see different perspectives of it. After getting all the amusement I
could out of this glitch I tried unsuccesfully a couple more time to reload
my file. Beging to accept the fact that I would have to start all over I
was left feeling a little depressed wondering what if this happens again when
I get 3/4 through the game. I thought that Studio 3DO had corrected all the
bugs in this game by now. I love the game but I am going to have to return it
if its this unpredictable.
This just in. My roommate tells me he had the glitch starting every time
he tried to load his file although there was nothing wrong with his file when
he had saved it. He was able to remedy this by trying to play the intro. When
it successfully ran (see Lucien's Quest thread bout' intro bug) he then tried
running his file (hypothesizing that they may have to do with the same thing)
and it worked. Although it doesn't do me alot of good since I saved it after
the bug had already taken its course.
Surely some of you must have experiences some Kt bugs. I do remember
them being mentione when the game was released but I thought they were fixed.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do. BTW does KT have a setup file
in addtion to the game files as many 3do titles do. All that I saw in the
manager was the two game files and perhaps the game didn't require a check
for sufficient memmory for a setup file. I really don't want to get rid of
anything else to see. Game Guru where are you? If I had that I could
decompress my files and if I didn't have any luck there I could use codes so
I wouldn't have to start from scratch. PLEASE email or post any comments or
suggestions.
Thanks,
Ryan

I have played the enitre game, beaten it, but have yet to run into a single problem
or glitch. The bugs you describe I did not see evidence of when I played it...anyone
else out there with no problems?

Well, no technical problems. Although my second time through I got
hopelessly stuck trying to fight the gangsters on the hard level of
difficulty. I think it was Tom3DO who suggested I try playing like this to
squeeze more out of the game and I did find it more enjoyable the 2nd time
around, but I got stuck in the West wing of the mansion without the flame
thrower and am now completely screwed. That's my only problem.

I was browsing through the Game Guru built in codes and noticed one of them for KT was
"Fix corrupted save file" (not exact quote), I would imagine it is for this bug. Any
one know for sure? I have been too lazy to send in for my fixed disk. You could try
it, if you have / can find a Game Guru (3DO Direct would have 'em).

BTW, does anyone else think the music in this game is the absolute best in any
videogame? I can't get over how perfectly it was done.

Yeah I read in one of those mags that KT will have a sequal as one of the 10
games that Studio 3DO is working on for the M2. For you 3d fighting fans I saw
a pic in EGM I believe that showed a fighter I forget the name coming out for
both the M2 and the PSX. Its best feature appeared to be that the loser could
select the next stage and if this was the charcter's "home turf" he/she was
granted a special move for that match.

That would be the game: "Ironblood'.

Speaking of names, anyone know why Studio 3DO changed the name of the above
from "Time To Die?"

Maybe for Studio 3DO, it sounded too much like a prophecy rather than
the name of a game.

Or maybe Virgin Entertainment wanted to use that (based upon Rutger Hauer's
famous quote) for their upcoming Blade Runner game CD release (not for 3DO
of course...).

There's a very good reason.

"Killing Time" is a better name.

Skip the rest of this message if you haven't yet solved Killing Time.
Minor spoilers follow.

"Killing Time" has three major meanings...

Killing Time, of course, can mean just wasting time. (Which is how you
feel while wandering around the garden maze and killing hunters in a
search for an invitation..)

Killing Time then means 'Time to Kill'... which really covers the whole game.

The final, and largest meaning is "Killing >Time<", which is what Tess has
succeeded in doing. The title forshadowing the final plot twist.. rather
a cool effect, for a video game.

As for "Time2Die"... it really just doesn't have the flair of "Killing
Time". Though it is interesting to note that the final section of Killing
Time is called Time2Die...

"Upon this time-trapped isle where time has ceased to be..."

Maybe it would've given the press and the nay-sayers more fodder for
fun puns and such...like certain comments about how appropriate it was
that the 3DO pack in was "Crash & Burn"

I'll third that. I'm halfway tempted to order for that Toot Sweet Jazz

I agree...if you look at the credits for the game, you'll notice a
gentleman by the name of Bob Viera - he's responsible for the music and
has done an incredible job. Just the other day I took some digital
samples of the music and burned an audio CD (redbook) of the music. I
played it on my stereo and it was great! [Note: Please don't ask for

I like the music Burke Trieschmann put together for "Total Eclipse".
Whenever I play that game, I turn off the sound effects and crank up
the stereo. I believe Burke did the tunes for "Off-World Interceptor"
and "Battlesport" too. Any others?

I've never seen "Killing Time" or "Monster Manor", so I can't make any
comparisons to Bob.

Don't waste your time on Monster Manor, cause whatever music is there isn't
worth sitting through the game. But get your hands on Killing Time which,
once you get past the duck hunters outside the house, is a whole lot of
fun. The fact that it's got an incredible sound track should be viewed as
the cherry on top.

Studio 3DO could sell some copies of this CD. You wouldn't have to deal
