The second way is to beat the boss at the end of the level. It says it
will automatically save in either case.
Well, its not. I played the game from start to finish. I beat the game
then restarted to see where it last saved. I found that it saved
somewhere midway through the Kung-Fu level when I found my last video
tape, NOT after I beat the boss on the Kung-Fu stage.
Anyone else have this problem?

Yup, and I found it to be an unpleasant surprise....still a great game
tho'.:)

Yup
It doesn't seem to actually save after bosses.
A shame, since video tapes are really hard to come by in later levels!

Yeah, I've found the same EXACT problem, I would assume it is a bug as it
kinda sucks if you stop playing without beating the game...oh well...

Except I found that you can return to older (easy) levels and nab
the video tapes. You loose your extra men, however.
Another bug I found is that in ROCK-IT (toon) I defeat the level, find
the remote and get out, it will not turn the TV to static. Also,
after defeating the boss the game was not saved (as you two have seen).
The strange thing is that I have a tv left in toon (mid-upper-right)
that I couldn't find a remote to open...
maybe things happened out of order and I defeated the boss early, hence
the world isn't really "defeated", so the game did not save. Did
you guys have any tvs that were black?

Hello Brian.
You finished it in 5 hours?? phew I must be real bad. :)
I just finished the first world in about 5 hours.
When I need to save a game I just go back and play a previous level that had a
video tape. Collect the tape at any time and save the game anywhere.

p.s. This may have been published elsewhere but on the 4th stage I think in the
first world where you jump over a large slime pool by jumping to small
platforms, you can jump into the slime pool at the end and live. It takes you
under the above level where you can collect the 2 free lives.
Also in the same world, if you jump under the four or five coffins that are
stacked up, there is a warp to hidden areas.
Sorry if this has been already published.

Quasi-secret level. The remote for that world is somewhere in the Rock It
stage. I'll give you this hint: follow the golden arrow.
Some other puzzles:
- In the Options screen, look at the music selections. After all the normal
entries (including the endgame and credits) there are "SciFi" and "SF Map"
entries. Secret world?
- I've gotten pretty good at the Bonus level in Rezopolis, the one with the
barrels. Once I managed a score of 28/30, and the game said "close enough"
and displayed half of some sort of icon. What gives?
- To find that bonus level in Rezopolis, look for a *long* set of twin conveyor
belts, floor and ceiling. There are 10 or so TV sets in there, so get rid
of them. Climb on the ceiling, and up the wall until you see a bunch of
spikes. Jump up, past the spikes, and grab the wall above them. Get up
to the platform above it, and the warp to the bonus stage will appear.
It sounds hard, but with enough practice it becomes routine...
This game is not unlike DKC in the sense that you can whiz through it if you
want, but you can also take your time and explore the secrets in each level.

Other than that, I think is a good game. I wasn't nearly as impressed as I
thought I'd be. The graphics are gorgeous and I even like Dana's voice. I
like how it is linked to the action on screen. However, this game is way
easy. And the apparent save problem is VERY annoying.

Thanks for the tips.
I'm very envious of you. You either have much more time than I can get to play,
or you are much better than I am. It took me quite a while to get past the 4th
stage in the graveyard, and its boss. So it's probably the later. :)

Yeah, I found this accidentally, but couldn't remember where it was.
Thanks for the reminder...of course, it's probably just easier to go
back to the first level and play the bonus round to get 6 free guys,
if you're looking for 1UPs.

I tried to do that, but couldn't get under--kept bouncing off the top one.
Is there a trick to this?

True, this is an unfortunate discrepancy between the docs and the
actual game (don't know if we can really call it a bug in the game...
maybe a "bug in the docs"!).
Anyway, there's a video tape right at the end of the last level in
Rezopolis (right before Rez-Lair). It's really easy to find and
makes it easy to save right before Rez.
Here's where it is:
You're crawling up a fairly narrow space--I think on the right is a
vertical conveyor belt and on the left is a solid wall.
Near the top of this "hole" are 2 patches of background to which you
can stick (how I noticed these easily but can't see a remote control
right under my nose is beyond me...).
Anyway, if you stick to the lower patch, you can't go anywhere, but
if you grab the upper patch, you can walk left THROUGH THE WALL, into
a little enclosure on the left, where the video tape is sitting.
I've got my game saved here so I can play _any_ level (except for
Sci Fi, of course...still working on that!)
>Except I found that you can return to older (easy) levels and nab
>the video tapes. You loose your extra men, however.
True. Tomato Soup is the ideal level.

As I recall, there were a couple TVs that I never seemed to get access
to.
Secret levels?
Perhaps one of these TVs you have that's black is one of the ones that
takes you to a different world.
You can get to different world either by using a world remote from within
a world, or using a world remote from the Dome--maybe you never
activated the Jungle world remote from w/in the Toon World?

I just go back to that level in the cemetary world aand grab the
tape there every time before I quit. It is a little bit of a paain in
the but, but it doesn't take too much time.
Tim
Yes, stick to the wall. I've done it.
I don't know if this is true or it he knew about the bug and was just
practising damage control.
In addition, I asked him about the CD baseball game for the 3DO.
According to him, CD only plans to release it for the Saturn and PSX at
this point. Why?! It's gooid to know they're developing games for
systems that are not even out in the US (their market) and not the one
that got them started. Hopefully, this was a mistake and it will be
announced at the E3. The only title he mentioned was SlamnJam although
he did hint that CD was holding off on announcements until E3 so I'll
wait and see.
Just my two cents...

I know its not the jungle one. Maybe it goes from toon to kung-fu.
I have yet to defeat that stupid jungle gym thing... :)
