I work for Software Etc. and this is how the systems are selling.
1.) Playstation
2.)3DO
3.)Saturn
This is in our store here in NY anyways. I'm not sure about the rest of
the company but sales for the playstation are way up there.. I sell the
3do at my store only because I know the features and I can tell the
customers that the system is upgradeable. I just wish I had an honest
release date for the M2. But anyways I hope this answers your question.

I don't know how 3DO's doing against other systems, but I know I've been
having a hell of a time trying to find one (Goldstar).
All the places I've been to have sold out.. That doesn't mean muc because
I don't know if they had 300 in stock or just 1.. But they are clearing
out. WOuldn't it be interesting if MEI got pissed at GOldstar for
chewing into Panasonic's earnings and didn't give them an upgrade? :)

Panasonic's primary source of 3DO profits is in the software they
produce. The range of Panasonic titles is such that they can be very
confident of selling at least a couple to most Golstar buyers. If
Goldstar went berserk and gave away 3DOs for free Panasonic would stand
to benefit from each one.
Matsushita is highly unlikely to not offer Goldstar good license
conditions.
1. They receive their hardware royalty fee regardless of whether
Goldstar sells at a profitable price.
2. Friendly licensing was one of the tactics that Matsushita's VHS
the winner of the videotape format war.
3. The previously mentioned software sales.
Probably just 1. Thats's what my local EB had when I purchased a second
3do. That was about a month ago. The last system sold before that was
sometime in June. Five total for the year. I asked the guy how come they
only keep 1 in stock and he said they only keep what they can sell. That
was when all 3 systems were $299, before the $199 price drop so maybe
things changed.

Well, thanks but I managed to find one already earlier in the week. :)
Thanks anyway though.
