I don't know if this has been talked about before in this ng, but here goes.

3DO still has the rights to M3.
They now have $100 million dollars.
M3 is, of course, more powerful than M2 and anything we've seen (supposedly).

Does anyone think that 3DO, as a company, did a smart thing for their
long term? Does anyone get what I'm talking about. Remember, rumor has
it that M3 is closer than expected, and $100 million can, well, bring 3DO
to the forefront with M3. M2 is just a paper tiger...something to get
$$$ for M3. Get it?

John:

There is no such project as "M3"...publicly, we refer to it as
MX...just though you would want to know ;)

Why do you need the MX if M2 is as good as you claim it to be.....

Uhhh... lemme think, probably because a company always strives to
produce something better. Nobody said that M2 is the end-all game system
that can never be topped. There will *always* be improvements that can
be made as technology improves... any dork knows that, except for you.

That's an interesting question. I think we both know that the nature
of this and other businesses, is that you continue to evolve products
and technology. I think that the demand from gamers is for us to
constantly improve the gaming technology - and MX is an effort to do
that.

MX?? Say wasn't what the Peacemaker multiple warhead ICBM was called when
it was being developed in the 80's. (Could this be a reference to this??)

Besides... Considering the M2 is looking like it woun't be out until
Fall of 1997, I would bet on the MX to come out before the year 2000
at best!!! =(

You win the prize - we had a pool here to see who would be the first to
notice ;) Yes, it is a promotion - I now manage three different groups
here at 3DO - Customer Service, Educational Services (training) and the
A/V Production Lab for Studio 3DO...thanks for noticing ;)
