Vectrex collector and hardware freak Rudy assembled a high quality and
great looking cabinet version for the Vectrex system. It features a
complete and safe housing for the Vectrex and high quality parts for
the game controls. The cabin controls are connected via the standard
connection port to the Vectrex, there is no need for changes on the
Vectrex system itself.
The cabin is build completely from wood, later colored in black and
some original game designs are added - you can choose between red
Scramble or blue MineStorm design. All parts are made by hand, Rudy
uses the Donkey Kong cabinet in half size with the exact measure for
the side and adapted the width for put a Vectrex in it.
There will be a limited production of only 5 VecArcade "Series One"
Construction Kits, in collaboration with vectrexmuseum.com who owns
the #1 model. A Sticker including the production number, the
production date and the name of the first owner will be attached to
the VecArcade. If you like to have an assembled unit Rudy will send
you one without more costs. If you are interested in buying one of the
remaining four VecArcades for your collection please contact Oliver at
vectrexmuseum.com . VecArcade #2 is ready to ship! More about the
VecArcade at vectrexmuseum.com

Helmut

I haven't decided on the colour, yet, and have asked Rudy to wait a bit with
finalizing and delivery.
Regards,
Helmut
Dear Helmut,
first of all - gratulations for your new born! She will love it in 5
years - I am sure.
I have changed the status of your design to "in production" on the
VecArcade page at www.vectrexmuseum.com. Please let me know when you
made a decission. There is nice blue MineLayer ship on the sides of
the museum´s VecArcade, looks very cool. I also have to wait a bit to
play with it - Rudy delivers in person in November :-)
Please contact me via the museums page - please use the normal contact
link on the index page.

Ah, the next generation getting their early training, to eventually
replace us oldies and keep the Vectrex alive :)
VectrexMad!

yes ian i have allready buy a unit for my boy but unfortuntly he can't
have it because i use for my last project the vecarcade
It is because of the new generation that I've resisted buying one of
Ian's auto-fire dongles. Most of the time when I play a game on the
Vectrex now it is with my children, and their job is to hammer away on
the fire key. They are my auto-fire...

Good idea. I remember me and my younger brother playing Star Raider on Atari
800. We shared the keyboard and functions and it was really good fun. :-)
I used to play Elite with a friend like that. I'd do the flying, he did
the missiles and lasers. We got to Deadly like that.
Star Raider though. Hmmm. I think a game closely based on Star Raider
would work well on the Vectrex.
