Vectrex controller - X-Axis only works when updside down?

I have a controller, missing the silver knob, where the X (L-R) direction only seems to work if you hold the controller upside down. I opened it up and tried to clean it out as best I could. Anyone have any ideas?
Also, anyone know where to find replacement Reset button covers?

That's a strange one, never heard of that one before. Can you take a high res photo of the mechanism then I could compare to mine which I have opened.

Regarding replacement reset. Don't think there exists a like for like replacement. If a 3d printer owner had an original reset button they could probably produce a near replacemnt.
