I have been looking to build a multi cart. I found the diy for under$20. But, the schematic is blured. If I could get a copy and an updated image it would help.

I am currently building a diy 3d imager. But have nothing to test it with. The cost is under $50 at this point.

Please help so I can finish. Thx hAz

Assuming you mean this:
http://vgcollect.freehosting.net/myvectrex.htm#FullMulti

I think the info in that PDF is mainly aimed at others
designing multicarts from scratch. You could try Emailing the
author for more info, but it's a bit of a long shot with a
project that old.

If you aren't up to designing your own one, I'm not aware of
any other DIY projects. If you just want one game, you might
be able to use an EPROM, but then you'll need to buy a
programmer (unless you have, or know someone with, one
already), this will likely blow your $20 budget from the
start.

Here is a project for sacrificing a standard Vectrex cartridge
to make an EPROM cart. (eprom.txt):

**There was a post here in 2011 regarding access to that FTP
site. Now both the links that came up there are dead, so I'm
stuck with the Wayback Machine archive above. Is there any way
left to get to the FTP site?**

I have a bin that works. I need a good dip switch schematic to go with it.

The schematics I have a not overly clear.

Currently learning to program the 6809. A little slow. Full time job and have a farm to tend onto, just my horses.

If you just want a single binary of choice to run as a cart you can always email John Dondzila at http://classicgamecreations.com/. Depending on your requirements he can sell you a PCB with socket for EPROM or sell you a complete cart with the binary of your choice burned into the EPROM, and he'll do it very cheaply. You could even just buy the PCB and modify it (with flying wires) so it works as a multicart and with the eprom of your choice.

If the design I linked to before is your $20 circuit, then that uses a
software menu, not DIP switches to select the program to be run. If you
want DIP switches, I'd figure you need to design your own circuit.

Though if you just want to run one ROM image, then the EPROM method would
be the easiest design-wise.

As I say, Email the author.

Email author is a efail.

I will check on what VectreMAD was saying.

Roden Habot wrote it but I haven't seen anything since 2002.

Great, thanks.

There is a working multicart binary to go with a DIY PCB design here at itherm.cz:
http://vectex.itherm.cz/articles/27/multicart-make-your-own

The author says he has 32 games working on it, and it uses the dip switch method you want. Fairly DIY friendly.

Now that the Vectrex multi-cart stock is depleted (2013) does anyone know of a menu-based binary set that will work for DIYers?
