When my older son played the cello in his first concert, I was
surprised to notice that most of the cello players were female.
But once I thought about it, it made sense, as the girls are still
taller than the boys at that age. One of my best friends in college
played the viola, which surely must attract musicians the same way the
catcher position does in baseball: it may not be the most glamorous
role, but it's the easiest route to the big leagues.

Hmph. I have no idea, even if I knock out the two uncertain ones.
But TOSMIN could be someone's name, so I'll try that.

Looks like the quilt is OCTAVE in the 6th column up. That means it's
INDONESIA for answer #1 but I have the wrong answer for #5 (Xbox was
from Microsoft). Can't think of what the right answer is, though.

Quilt Solution: I see the potential for OCTAVE rising up
the 6th column, so that means the first question needs an "E".

So, since the area stated in the question is fairly large
that may fit the quilt is probably not in the western hemisphere,
so it's probably someplace in or around Asia, so I will have to take
a wild guess and say INDONESIA, si it's a bunch of islands spread out
over a wide enough area to fit the question requirements.
