No, it was based on an incident in Greece.

An excellent movie, distinguished by one of the best dubbing jobs I've seen.

You're right about the full title of E.T. _10_ is an interesting offering,
but my money's on _Q_, the Japanese monster movie.

Wasn't the full title _Q - The Winged Serpent_. It was filmed in U.S. not Japan.
Rather good for a few laughs. Michael Moriarity is very good in it.

Besides....it's "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial", thus making it a more likely
candidate for longst movie title.....

Unless there's ANOTHER movie called _Q_ which I'm unaware of......

The film _Q_ which is about the Aztec winged serpent god Quetzelcoatl is
definitely _NOT_ Japanese.....but was made by schlock film-meister Larry Cohen,
director of such classic crap as _IT'S ALIVE!_ (about killer psycho-infants),
_RETURN TO SALEM'S LOT_ and _THE STUFF_.

Surprisingly, Michael Moriarty, who does a _FABULOUS_ job on tv's
_LAW AND ORDER_ appears in both _Q_ and _THE STUFF_...hmm.....(he was also
TERRIBLE in _TROLL_)....

Oh well....

There are several one-letter titles:

"M" (by Fritz Lang with Peter Lorre)
"Q" (a sci-fi monster film with David Carradine (I think))
"Z" (don't know anything about it, but it exists)

Mark Brader (in 2011):

In the IMDB there are 150 listings for movies with 41 different
one-character primary titles. The most popular of these titles
is 4, which they show being used 11 times from 1995 to 2011
inclusive, including three times in 2005; the most popular letter
is X, used 10 times. There are one-character titles using all
10 digits; 25 of the upper-case letters in our alphabet, all except D;
the lower-case letters i (4 times) and c; the AE-ligature; the @ sign;
the ? mark (5 times); and, as noted, the $ sign.

"Movie" here includes documentaries and shorts, but not direct-to-video
releases or TV productions of any kind.

In 2017 there are 315 listings for 52 different one-character primary
titles. 4 and X are still the most popular numerical and alphabetic
titles, but now they have been used 20 times each -- there were four
movies titled X in 2016 alone, all of them shorts. I'm not going to
enumerate all the others.
