These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2012-05-14
(really!), and should be interpreted accordingly. All questions were
written by members of What She Said and/or of Smith & Guessin', but
have been reformatted and may have been retyped and/or edited by me.
I will reveal the correct answers in about 3 days.

For further information, including an explanation of the """
notation that may appear in these rounds, see my 2021-07-20
companion posting on "Reposted Questions from the Canadian
Inquisition (RQFTCI*)".

* Game 3, Round 7 - Entertainment - Capra-Corn

Frank Capra's films embodied life, liberty, the American way,
motherhood, and apple pie. Over his 42-year career, he produced
many well-known feature films and a handful of TV-movies, as well as
several documentaries including propaganda shorts for the US Army.
He's on the American Film Institute's "100 Most Inspiring Movies
of All Time" four times. On the 3-page handout:

http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/3-7/capra.pdf

each picture is taken directly from a different Capra movie.

1. Give the *picture number* for the movie that won Best Picture,
Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress for 1934.

2. Which picture shows the 1934 film "Broadway Bill", starring
Warner Baxter and Myrna Loy?

3. What screwball comedy is shown in picture #6?

4. The movie shown in picture #13 was a box-office flop. Name it.

5. Name the movie shown in picture #10.

6. Barbara Stanwick played "The Miracle Woman" in Capra's 1931
production about a female evangelist. Find the picture.

7. What film is shown in picture #11?

8. Please decode the rot13 for questions #8-9 only after you
have finished with the first 7 questions. Senax Pncen

10. Been waiting for the "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) question?
Okay, here it is. Find the relevant picture and give the
*name of the premises* where James Stewart is standing.

So there were 10 decoys. If you like, decode the rot13 to see
the titles and give the picture number for each one.

11. "Nzrevpna Znqarff" (1932).
12. "Gur Ovggre Grn bs Trareny Lra" (1932).
13. "Qvevtvoyr" (1931).
14. "Sbeovqqra" (1932).
15. "N Ubyr va gur Urnq" (1959).
16. "Zrrg Wbua Qbr" (1941).

19. "Cyngvahz Oybaqr" (1931).
20. "Lbh Pna'g Gnxr Vg Jvgu Lbh" (1938).

* Game 3, Round 8 - Miscellaneous - Corporate Fonts

Please see the handout

http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/3-8/fonts.png

and in each case name the company, product, etc. as indicated.
I'm presenting the round here in order of the handout. There were 4
decoys in the original game, which you will find interspersed with
the others. You can skip over the decoys if you like, or answer
them for fun, but for no points. *Note*: The round has not been
updated; please answer based on information as it was in 2012.

1. Name it.
2. Name it (decoy).
3. Name either one.
4. Name it (decoy).
5. Name it.
6. Name it (decoy).

In the original game, this was the easiest round of the game and the
fifth-easiest of the entire season after four current events rounds.

"Jeopardy!". 4 for Dan Blum, Joshua, and Dan Tilque.

In 2012 two people guessed "Star Trek". Here are its title fonts for
the original series, the Next Generation series, and the 2009 movie:
