No, Santa's Little Helper is correct. Remember the flashback
episode where it was Christmas Eve and Homer didn't have any
money to buy presents. He took Bart to the dog track and they
bet on "Santa's Little Helper". The dog came in last whereupon
the owner booted him out. Homer and Bart took the dog home
as the family Christmas present.
There was one episode where they took the dog to obedience school.
He was behaving so badly that the instructor referred to him as
Satan's Little Helper, hence your confusion.

Nope, its name is Santa's little Helper, though sometimes it does act
like the devils own.

As has been previously pointed out, the Simpson's dog is indeed Santa's Little
Helper as indicated in the Simpson's Christmas Special "Simpsons Roasting On
An Open Fire". The confusion may result from the episode "Bart's Dog Gets An F"
in which Bart takes the dog to obedience school and the trainer incorrectly
reads the dog's name as *Satan's* Little Helper.
I need to get out more...
