Yeah, back-translating Swedish film titles back to English is a bit of a
guessing game. "Trading Places" a title with some fitting ambiguity that
is lost in the Swedish title. It was the wrong movie, anyway.

These days, the English title is retained in many cases why it not so
much of an issue. It even happens that non-English files gets an English
title in Sweden. For instance, there is currently a French film playing.
The original title is "Bande des filles", whereas the "Swedish" title
is "Girlhood".

The best example I know of is

"Glöm inte kamelerna", which translates to
"Don't forget the Camels"

The film's real name in English is
"The Last Remake of Beau Geste"

Nice.

Of course it goes the other way too. There was a movie released in 1998
that was shown in North America under the title "Show Me Love". The
original Swedish title was: "Fucking Åmål". (That's an expletive and
a place name.)

And in case anyone wonders, no, "fucking" is not a Swedish word. See, we
can't even have Swedish titles on our own films! Åmål, on the other
hand, is really a Swedish small town.

On the other hand, in Austria it too is a place name.

The trick is that you just declare the word to be Swedish too.

("Schadenfruede is one of those concepts we don't have a word for in
English." -- "Yes we do: schadenfruede.")

Incidentally, according to the IMDB the original title was used without
translation in several other European languages.

I can assure you that the Swedish language includes a number of words
that are perfectly able convey the concept in "fucking" without having to
resort to English. :-)

Actually, for that word, we do have our own.
Even if it seems to be a direct translation from German -
Skadegläjde

schade - skada
fruede - glädje

I can't seem to find my score? Assuming that you intended to approve my
Swedish answer for the Ferrier, my score should be 6. (Given the fact
that "hovslagare" literaly translates as "hoof beater", that answer is
a bit easier to find.)
