I have decided to post the Current Events round now, while it's still
reasonably current. I'll score this as a standalone question set and
not group it with the earlier Current Events or any other round.
I'll also allow an extra 2 days for entries in case some people are
unusually busy at this time of year. So, by Toronto time, you have
until December 27 or the early hours of December 28 to enter.
(After that, I will return to the previous format of 8 rounds in
4 sets of 2 rounds each with 3 days allowed for answers. I will
start with Game 2 and continue through Game 10 in order, followed
by the remaining rounds from the Final, or most of them.)
Okay, then. These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on
2009-12-14, and refer to events of the week or so preceding that date.
On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers in a single followup to the newsgroup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers on the date indicated above. For further
information see my November 25 companion posting on "Cellar Rats
Questions from the Canadian Inquisition (QFTCICR)".
All questions were written by members of the Cellar Rats team and
are used here by permission, but have been retyped and may have
been edited by me.

And Stephen Perry is the winner for this set of mostly rather tough
questions -- lots of Canadiana in here. (There wasn't a separate
Canadiana round at the Final, by the way.)
