I tried posting to rec.arts.tv, and i got no help, so maybe someone can help
me here. I am desperately looking for all the verses to the opening of The
Fall Guy (don't ask why) Any help you can give me would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance. --jackie

I don't think this is going to be a whole lot of help, but my sister and
I have pieced together all the lyrics we can remember. "The Fall Guy" saw
me through many a late night in Richmond, so the least I can do is keep the
memories of Colt Seavers alive, God bless him.

It's a death-defying life, but
/something/ worth living.
It's true I hire out my body for pay.
(Ah hey, hey!)
....

CHORUS 1: I'll jump the highest buildings,
I'll Tarzan from a vine,
Cause I'm the UNKNOWN STUNTMAN
Who makes Eastwood look so fine.

I've /something/ for Cheryl,
Blown up for Raquel Welch,
I've never been with anything less than a 9,
(So fine!)
/Something something/
But when I wind up in the hay, # You may remember that this is the
It's only hay! # part of the opening where Colt flies
(Ah hey, hey!) # a biplane into a barn! :-)

The only other part we can remember is when Colt & his geeky sidekick
were emerging sheepishly from a garbage dumpster wearing US Navy female
officers' hats, and the lyrics were something like:

Even though I never went to school,
I've taught ladies plenty.

There was also something about watching "some other guy kiss my leading
lady/ While I'm bandaging my knee..."

I hope someone out there can do a better job than I of recalling this
theme song. Maybe I've triggered some long-buried memories. :-)

I'm not sure of these and if I make a mistake due to my ignorance, don't
flame me or publicly humiliate me. Here goes:

I'm not the kind to Kiss and tell
but I've been seen seen with Farah
I've never been with anything less than a 9 so fine
I've gotten burned over Cherll Tieggs
Blown up for Rachel Welch
but somehow they just don't end up as mine

It's a death defying life I lead
I take my chances
I die for a living in the movies and TV
But the hardest thing I'll ever do is
watch my leading ladies
..cant' remember..................
......."...........

I Jump an open drawbridge
or Jump cars in a line
but I'm the unknown stuntman that
makes Eastwood look so fine

Well I'm not at home (at work) so I can't pop in the TV toon disc, so I
guess someone else will have to help

I've actually got a song book at home with the music to this, as well as
all the verses (some of which WEREN'T used for the show!) and I promise
that I'll try to hunt it down and give you the info in the next day or two!

OK, here's the official lyrics from the sheet music (including a verse not
used on the show)...

BALLAD OF THE UNKNOWN STUNTMAN
(Theme from "The Fall Guy")
Words & Music by Glen Larson, David Somerville, & Gail Jenson

Well, I'm not the kind to kiss and tell, but I've been there with Farrah.
I'm never seen with anything less than a nine, so fine.
I've been on fire with Sally Field, gone fast with a girl named Bo-ho,
But somehow they did not end up as mine.

It's a death defyin' life I lead, I take my chances.
I die for a livin' in the movies and T.V.
But the hardest thing I ever do is watch my leadin' ladies

Kiss some other guy while I'm bandagin' my knee.

I might fall from a tall building, I might roll a brand new car
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman that made Redford such a star.

I never spent much time in school, but I taught ladies plenty.
It's true I hire my body out for pay. Hey, hey.
I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs, blown up for Raquel Welch.
But when I end up in the hay it's only hay. Hey, hey.
I might jump an open drawbridge or Tarzan from a vine.
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman that makes Eastwood look so fine.

They'll never make me president, but I got the best first ladies.
Some days I got 'em far as the eye can see. Woo, wee.
A morning dive with Jackie Smith, I crash in the night with Cheryl.
But in the end they never stay with me.

I might fall from a tall building so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt.
I might leap a mighty canyon so he can kiss and flirt.
While that smooth talker's kissin' my girl, I'm just kissin' dirt.
Yes. I'm the unknown stuntman who made a lover out of Burt.

Hope that helps!

There's also a lyric that goes something like:

I'm not the kind to kiss and tell

But I've been seen with Farah
