RECENT EVENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED:
* Two page interview with Ron Perazza, OverPower Product Manager at
Marvel Interactive, appeared in major hobby magazine "Tuff Stuff's
Collect!" November 1998 issue (interviewer: Steve Fritz).
* "Image OverPower" Expansion Booster Boxes surfaced and quickly
disappeared from some distributors/stores around the world. Supply is
already all but sold out and Wildstorm has no plans to print more. Image
Starter Decks not available for sale outside of Japan.
* Marvel Interactive's new official OverPower Legion club has opened for
new memberships. Brand new members, simply send your name, address,
phone number, and a check for $10 ($15 US for Canadian and foreign) to:

* Longtime old members received a letter in the mail from Ron Perazza
inviting them to rejoin via the method above. Previous Legion members
who joined for only a short time and did not receive such a letter do

SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN SOON (OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 1998):
* National OverPower Demo Day events to be held Saturday, October 24th
at two confirmed locations: Neutral Ground New York
(nground.com/home.html) and Columbus, Ohio (contact Doug Simms at
The...@aol.com). Demonstrations and free Starter Decks for new players,
free Avengers #1 (sunburst variant) for all attendees, sanctioned
tournament for new and old players alike.
* Legion members will get "The Mission Statement" newsletter, said to
include The Spawn Promo & Regionals/Nationals article.
* Overpower.com to be updated with new 1998-99 Player Ratings listings
and Specials Guide.
COMING AT THE END OF THIS YEAR (DECEMBER 1998):
* "X-Men OverPower" Expansion Set; Marvel commemorates the group's 35th
Anniversary with this boosters-only set.
* Should include about 200 cards including 38 new/variant mutant-related
Characters like Multiple Man and Deathbird, some Specials for existing
Heroes like Dazzler & Havok, new Locations and Artifacts, and a brand
new Card type used in conjunction with Location cards.
* Spoiler Stats: (may change after "Reserves" playtesting)
+ Angel: The Fallen 6-7-4-3.
+ Bastion 3-2-4-7 ~May play any Sentinels' Special cards. Attacks made
with Intellect Power cards may not be moved or shifted from Target
Character.~
+ Captain Britain 4-4-7-6.
+ Grey King 6-3-5-7.
+ Jean Grey: Dark Phoenix 8-4-6-3.
+ Maverick 5-8-3-3.
+ Shadow King 7-1-1-7.
+ Spider-Girl 4-6-5-3 ~Attacks made with Power cards may not be
defended by Activators.~
+ Typhoid Mary 5-7-3-2 ~Attacks made with Fighting Power cards may not
be moved or shifted from Target Character.~
+ X-Man 8-3-3-3.
* Spoiler Specials:
+ Spider-Girl's Web Action - Acts as a level 5 Fighting attack. If
successful, Target Character loses Inherent Ability and is considered to
have no Inherent Ability for remainder of Battle. {NOT OPD}
+ Mystery Character's Special - Look at top 8 cards of Draw Pile and
choose any 4 cards. Reshuffle Draw Pile. Put four chosen cards on top of
Draw Pile.
* Spoiler Location:
+ PRINCESS BAR: WOLVERINE, SHADOWCAT, SABRETOOTH, THE HAND, SILVER
SAMURAI, VIPER ~Princess Bar's Team's Energy Power Cards are +2 to
defense.~
* Confirmed No-Show Characters in this expansion: Silver Samurai and
Spiral.
COMING FIRST QUARTER NEXT YEAR (1999):
* "The Marvels"; a set with a few new Characters but mainly reissues of
many early OP Characters with some old/reprinted and new Specials.
Packaging should include Starter Decks.
COMING SOMETIME IN THE (FAR?) FUTURE:
* Newly designed Legion membership card will be sent to all members.
* The Spawn Promo should be reprinted (or recut?) to match regular OP
card size.
* "Accidental Inserts" should be reprinted with same artwork (only
difference will be legal text), unknown if expansion inserts or promos.
* Hero and Specials to be released for original Angel of X-Men and
Thanos.
* An online gaming CD-ROM version of OverPower to be completed &
released.
RUMORED IN THE WORKS:
* Possible third DC OP expansion, DC/Marvel/Wildstorm agreements pending
(recent buyout of Wildstorm by DC/Warner Brothers evidently has not
hurried this along as might be expected).
* Possible small press characters (Dark Horse, Shi, Chaos!, etc.)
OverPower expansions.
