Word bein' bandied about on the deadlands list is that the Sweetrock Mining Co.
did the offing of J.P., supposedly Jim MacNeil wandered into J.P. office, and
while J.P. was diggin through his paperwork was gunned down in cold blood,
without even gettin' a chance ta draw his sidearm.

I've not seen seen anything about the Gencon results on the mailing
list - is the server playing up?
I missed the final but Ryan told me that Kerry Breitenscheiner (sp?)
won the championship and so I suppose she got to call it. She was
playing Sweetrock (like me) so I'm not sure why she would have
fingered Jim McNeil. Maybe it's because he was my main starting dude
and she didn't like facing my deck or maybe I'm just paranoid ...
Kerry is a very worthy champ as I heard that she went undefeated at
Origins too. Check out my web site for a photo of her in due
course...

She did indeed win, but from what I understand the only choice the winner could make
was did the Outfit they were playing actually shoot J.P. Coleman. She said yes and
the rest was already preprepared. Rumor has it that if the Collegium had been the
named faction, Phineas Von Landingham would have gatling gunned the building from
his balloon, thus offing J.P.
Thats all I know.

But bear in mind, he did not shoot Templeton.

Yeah, but Nash (Cash) Bilton will fill his shoes. Nash is
a very cheap asset as far as Sweetrock is concerned. The Rock
now has the Law in their pocket. Front pocket no less.
UHF might post the Gen-con second Hand Story Report, and
will post the finals from my point of view. Killer
Kerry was the Champ for those who missed Andrews post.

Speaking of which, how'd the Shadowfist tournaments go?

Stefan has much of the detail but the headlines are:
Sealed Deck - was won by a new guy whose name I didn't get. I have a
photo though. The other finalists were Lissa Vincent and Jim Ericson.
Final Brawl - was won by Jason Rownd with a Fire deck - "Sputtering
Bonfire". The other finalists were myself, Matt Widman and Ken
Kurpiel. I will be publishing a blow by blow and deck listing real
soon now. Congratulations to Jason for winning this, the biggest and
hardest-fought of the tournaments.
Who's the Man - was won by Yuit Sum Vong, fresh from winning the Can
O'Wupass from David Eber's group in Philadelphia. Her deck was heavy
Ascended - "High Society". The other finalist was Jason Rownd again.
Given Yuit's recent success - she also won the last Proving Ground in
NYC - perhaps this should be called "Who's the Lady?"
Overall, attendance was down because of the Andon snafu which left
these events out of the main program book. Still, thanks to Stefan
for working round this problem and running the events in a pleasant,
trouble-free way.
Yuit has flown back home but I'm still in the US. I plan to go to
Neutral Ground in NYC again this Friday. If anyone wants a taste of
Gencon, I'll be happy to take them on there with any of mine or Yuit's
Gencon decks.

There was an impromptu 'tournament' at a place in NJ ( Time Warp ) on Tues.
that Andrew showed up to ( actually, he made it up on the spot...;) ) that I
was at. It was Sealed Deck w/ 1 Flashpoint booster, and there were six of us
( including Andrew ) . We broke up into 2 groups of 3, with the two group
winners facing off against each other. I won against my best friend ( who
was the other group winner - how badly did you get stomped, Andrew?....;) )
and was quite happy; it was the first tournament I had ever won in any CCG.
What I want to say is that I was quite impressed by Andrew; he is quite a
nice guy, and was glad to meet him. My only regret is that I didn't bring
the Retrofist rules - it would have been fun to play a game using them.
