We've been discussing the World Championship decks on mtg-strategy-l,

Maybe so, but when you get right down to it who gives a hoot? I
realize that the prestige and importance of the award is mind-boggling,
but I suggest you just think of it as a scavenger hunt in which one of
the things you need to collect is transportation both ways.

I think what WotC should do is try to convince MtG players to get
some perspective on just what it means to be "World Champ". For crying
out loud, it ain't the Nobel Peace Prize.

I have a friend who has a champ deck, but I know he isn't loosing
any sleep over the terrible injustice of the world. The failings of the
IU basketball team frustrate Graham a lot more than *any* aspect of the
Convocation tournament system.

No such thing as a champ deck.
Takes a champ player. He'll make good use of whatever deck is handed
to him; if he's given a decent selection of cards, he'll make a good
deck.
