Mana acceleration

accelerator, or your favorite one. I think that mana acceleration is one
important part of a good deck so i wanted to know which you like most.
Here's mine (well in my humble opinion)
(well for the sake of this thread let say extended or bust)
1- Dark ritual (i know not valid in extended but it is the best !!!)
2-Chromatic sphere
2-Pentad prism (for two color or more)
3-Cloudpost
4-Temple of the fasle god
5-The urza set
6-Wayferer Bubble
What are yours, cause they certainly is some more, and surely better !!!

You forgot: black lotus, all moxen, gilded lotus, lotus petal...
Solemn Simulacrum :)
Birds of Paradise followed by Llanowar elves are pretty great.
Affinity (even the non-banned kind)
Aether Vial (not mana accel per se, but it acts like it)
Sakura-tribe elder & kodama's reach are also current favs.

Reach, Chrome Mox and Seething Song. Others are Reap and Sow, Sylvan
Scrying, Pentad Prism, Rampant Growth and Wayfarer's Bauble.

Hm...I think 1+1+1+1 is 4 ...
Well, there are a lot of good mana acceleration cards in standard
right now, like chrome mox, sakura, solemn, rampant growth, the
bauble, seething song & desperate ritual, reap & sow, birds, ...
I think the most common ones are birds, chrome mox, sakura &
wayfarer's bauble and/or solemn. :)

Some of those aren't common as in rarity.
Or common as in availability.
I don't see lots of moxes, birds, or solemns at lower levels of play.
But common as in desirability?

Has anyone else noticed a decline in Talismans?
(And Myr never seemed to catch on...)

Myr I get, they're easily removed, but I like the talismans. I was thinking
of a blue-black deck in the near future, and they were about the only thing I
could think of. If there are a lot of artifacts, i guess the Vedalken
Engineer is decent. Solemns, as well, but that still seems pretty slow, as
mana accel. is mostly important in those first few rounds.

Chromatic Sphere probably belongs in the "mana fixing" category, as opposed
to the "mana acceleration" category. You could even put it in the "card
drawing" category as well. Because it costs you 2 mana (1 to cast, 1 to
activate) to get 1. That's a net *loss* of 1 mana, not a gain.
Just nitpicking a little bit....

honorable mention as probably one of the best mana fixers ever printed. But,
I'd rather play Chromatic Sphere over Mox Diamond any day.

Seriously though, I went back and added Seething Song since its played a
helluva lot more than Chrome Mox. And whoever thinks Desperate Ritual is
good mana acceleration is a dumb ass.

versions, maybe. Chrome Mox will always see more play in Extended than
Seething Song.
Red isn't as great in Extended, and Extended has the Wishes, and much better
drawing power so chrome mox isn't as much of a tempo affect as in standard.

Well, for a deck I was pondering, it's not too shabby.. considering Type 2,
Trinisphere by turn 2 quite often and occasionally turn 1, then dropping
landkill on the opponent.. always makes for fun times :) I'll see if I can
hunt down a rough decklist I'd done up at some point and toss it in here..
but it ran 4x Chrome Mox and 4x Desperate Ritual.

Hmm...while it doesn't provide mana, Aether Vial was *heavily* played in
this year's Extended format, perhaps just as much as Chrome Mox. One could
argue that it's "non-mana mana acceleration".
And don't forget Mox Diamond. Not as widely used as Chrome Mox, but still
pretty efficient.

Y'all are all about the chrome mox. I agree with this guy. Mox Diamond
is where its at. No cards removed from game, and it makes any color
mana. If you have a Crucible, it's win-win, baby.
