Sick of artifact cards ruining your game, cards like Cursed Scroll, Scalding
Tongs, Null Brooch, Ensnaring Bridge, Mox Diamond, etc. And you thought the
only way to get rid of these was to destruct them of the board, why not leave
them there and turn them to your advantage. The card to do this is Ancient
Ruins. Its a red enchantment that deals one damage per artifact controlled by
a player during each upkeep. Since artifact destruction is pretty limited in
Rath and with Urza's Saga coming out, this should be a staple red card in
each deck.

Also it has the funniest artwork from the Tempest set.

Ancient Ruins always intrigued me before I actually bothered to throw it
in a deck. I must say it worked well for me. As I rarely turn to
artifacts when making a deck (I've used Emerald Medallion more than any
other), it suited my play very well. I managed to ding my opponent
close to death during one game (much like my Bog Imp did in another
game). Unfortunately, as I'm apt to do, I jumped the gun in attempting
to finish him off and tapped everything I had in play. He managed to
hang on to one life point somehow, and came back at me unblocked and
victorious. Dang!

And yes, the artwork is quite amusing. In fact, I may never have tried
it out if the artwork hadn't kept on catching my attention. :)
