Re. Thanks for help with my first tournement

I thank all of you who have made suggestions( at the bottom I have how I
did and what type of decks I faced). Here is what it finaly was

In my first match I played against a green black living death deck which
killed me on turn 3 with 4 verdent fources that he put into his
graveyard on the first turn.
The second match I played a guy who used solo rings, grim monoliths, and
some dragon that let you play a dragon, have it be uneffected by
summoning sickness, then bury it at the end of the turn. He killed me on
4th turn or so.
The third match I played I against a 10 year old with a necro/discard
deck. He took most of his life himself before I even had a chance to get
multiple kurd apes and such on the table. I finished off his 3 points
with a 12 point fireball.
The fourth match I played a 12 year old with a green red goblinish type
deck. I killed him with a bunch of squirls.
The fifth and what I was guessing to be my final match I played against
a guy a year or two older than me who played a elf/worship deck. When he
got his worship out and I attacked him with my hidden ancients and got
him down to 1 he just sort of smirked. On the next turn I played an
elfish leirist. He wasn't to happy about that. Next turn I pop the
leirist and then attack with a hord of squirls, a tree, a few apes, and
a mana elf.
Yes, I made it into the final 12(or 14,8 something like that) I than
play against a 17 year old, he was playing a deck just about like mine.
We both got only two mana. He got an elf first, I bolted it and got a
llanawar. He bolted it. I then incinerated him for 3. And it went on
this way untill I finaly got him with the apes.
My 7th and final match, if I won it I was going to get atleast 4th which
was something like 20 dollars of stuff at the shop. I got Dragon Man
from my second match. He used his solo ring and such and got out a
dragon whelp, then the dragon(or dragon master. What is the card
called?) and summoned a dragon that did me 7 dammage and made me discard
my hand(which had enough stuff to get a 11/6 kird ape or so) and then
use some other dragon the next turn to get me down to 6, the next turn
he kills me.
All in all I thought I did well for my first time.

The Dragon that did 7 damage and made you discard your hand was
probably Nicol Bolas. Wasn't that card changed to be ONLY a legend???
(and not an Elder Dragon Legend) So it shouldn't have been able to be
put in to play by Zirilian of the Claw's special ability

Ah, I found it. Oracle 7/01/98
It (Nicol Bolas) is of type Summon Legend not Summon Elder Dragon
Legend.

There for Zirilian of the Claw could not be used to get Nicol Bolas.

Congradulations on the tournament though. Sounds like you did pretty
well. I wouldn't worry about anything though, just if you see
"Dragon Man" again, you might want to refer to this ruling ;)
