This is a new deck that I thought might be competitive in type II. It is based
on early counters followed up by card advantage through corpse dance. I need
to know what decks will crush this and how to make it better. Thanks in
advance for any advice and thanks to Dan Burgess for helping me make this.

4 Force Spike
4 Counterspell
4 Mana Leak
2 Forbid
3 Dismiss

3 Intuition
3 Corpse Dance (A buyback Healing Salve/Wispers of the muse)
4 Nevinyrral's Disk

2 Dauthi Mindripper (Empties opponents hand in two turns)
2 Mindless Automaton
4 Bottle Gnomes

3 Wasteland
3 Swamp
4 Underground River
15 Islands

Sideboard:
4 Chill
2 Hydroblast
3 Perish
1 Intuition
3 Arcane Laboratory
2 Carrion Beatles

All you could really use is Ticking Gnomes (Mogg Gnome). Those guys are some
good. And maybe propagandas to hold off eariler attackers.

I would say that you are missing the only real reason to play
B/U...LOBOTOMY!!!

I would play at least 2 main deck. You could probably cut down from 4 Force
Spike AND 4 Mana Leaks to fit these in... Other than that, I would suggest
you look at Terrors or Sickens (or even Nausea) for early game removal. And
definitely put Engineered Plague into the Sideboard. The Dauthi Mindrippers
are an interesting Idea, but they have too high a casting cost, and are too
easy to kill to be really useful to you.

Dancing Gnomes is an old concept, and has been known to work on occasion, but
I believe that many players who used it had a tough time finding a way to
kill their opponenents. The Automatons might take care of this, but I would
suggest putting a Morphling or two, and a Volrath's Stronghold, just for that
extra win condition.

you have the black in your deck...Abuse it.

Nick.

I disagree, blue and black team-up need not be about Lobotomy. Blue gives
you the counter coverage and library manipulation lacking in Black (without
Necropotence), while Black provides the creature removal and recursion
possibilities

Lobotomy would be a given sideboard card, in this way you use it after
KNOWING which card you are looking to RFG. To have it maindeck without
Duress or Capsize is simply trying for a lucky shot. I would sideboard Lobo
+ Duress/Capsize. Swap them in for Force Spikes and maybe a Nev's or
Mindripper in the following games if there is a hoser in opponents deck.

I would go Lobo sideboard but use the Black critter removal (terror or
nausea). Your Mindrippers will be stopped by a Black/White Shadow horde and
prove to be expensive but useless, you need a way to remove blockers to use
them effectively. The recursion of Corpse Dance is only going to give you
two shots with the mindrippers due to the RFG effect. Same with the Bottle
Gnomes.

The Automaton is you only real threat card here. Dumping your hand can make
him a nice fattie, counter coverage can keep him from going the way of a
Disenchant or Sex Monkey'd. However, he has no evasion. Chump block city.
How about making room for a Splicer, it can serve to take evasion away from
your opponent and give this guy some real threat power. With a MIndripper
in play you already have a source of Shadow for the Automaton beatdown.

Volrath's is a great idea, might be a nice recursion for the Gnomes or to
keep a Mind ripper in the game. Morphling is an absolute threat card and a
must deal with, but if card advantage is your deal.

this I agree with, black can clear the way with removal or recurse (or even
mana boost with DR). Definitely use it.

How? I thougth that if I could sacrafice them (they both have sacraficing
abilities) than they could not be the target of the Corpse Dance RFG effect.
Also Lobotomy is definatly not even worth the side board. It requires to much
deck space with duress or Capsize.

Chump blocking dosen't occur much after a disk, my game works by disking at
the end of opponents turn, dancing the automaton on my turn then attacking and
drawing a card. I can repeat each turn as neccicary and keep board control
after my disk with the automaton forbid combo.

I have to concider this. Even better mabey I shall use plancheron. It can
bounce for a disk and if it dies I can corpse dince it and bounce it before the
RFG effect. Also I forget what the stronghold dose.

It works...At worst, a shadow will split off with the Mindripper and
you can come in for the discard next turn.

Agree. Splitting is ok too because your critter will be coming back
next turn. Don't be afraid to pitch creature because you can always
get them back with a Stronghold.

Don't bother, go with 1 Auto, 1 Mindripper 4 Bottle Gnomes.
Palinchron will be too mana intensive to dance/bounce in the same
turn. Disk will clear the way for you. Definately play min of 2
Strongholds in the deck just in case (legendary land,T: add 1
colorless to mana pool, 1B T:Put target creature from your graveyard
on top of your library). This deck is very similar to the one played
by Mike Flores in last year's US Regional's (don't know which region).
You should be able to find it in the dojo archives or get a list from
Mike. IIRC, he didn't bother with anything other than Gnomes and
splashed black only for the Dances...His version basically played like
DrawGo. IMHO, it is much more versatile with the discard/removal of
Black and the Auto, Mindripper. One more critter to consider would be
Bone Shredder (Dance it in your upkeep then kill by echo cost). Hope
this helps you.

Hmm, this won't work anymore. Bethmo has ruled (re-ruled?) for 5th Edition
that if an echo creature comes under your control during your upkeep, its
echo will be checked during the NEXT upkeep (this is a reversal from a
ruling in december, but puts it inline with 6th E).

Obviously, 6th E Type 2 this deck would change. But with regard to the
Shredder, dancing the Shedder wouldn't work in 6th E either since upkeep
caost/abilities are loaded on the stack at the beginning of upkeep.

Sorry for my mistake on CDance.
