Yes. _All_ the "X does damage to you during upkeep. If this damages you, do
that" cards have been Errataed to read "If this damage is assigned to you,
do that" regardless of what happens to the damage afterwards.

Nope, because Spirit Link [and Drain Life] count up the damage actually done,
which can only happen after prevention/redirection/etc. [Note that Soul Burn
doesn't count up damage - it counts up mana paid, so preventing the damage
doesn't change Soul Burn's life gain.]
