If a craw giant is blocked by a wall of vapor(non-banding) can I assign
one point of damage to the wall and the rest to my opponent.

Yes, I'm pretty sure you could. If you need more help, E-Mail WotC.

No. All damage from combat goes onto a blocker if possible. You cannot
assign any to the defending player, it has to go onto a blocker.

The damage will be reduced to 0 and no trample will be assigned to the
defending player.

No. You don't get to assign damage to the opponent; you get to assign it to
the blockers (if any). Trample damage is what's left over after the blockers
have been suitable squashed. The Wall of Vapour reduces *all* the damage dealt
to it by attackers to zero, so there's none left to trample over.

Sorry.

You cannot "assign" any damage to your opponent. The damage can be
parceled out amongst all the blockers. If there is only one blocker,
he must take it all, and if it's more than enough to send the blocker
to the graveyard, then the defending player will take damage.

The Craw Giant must put ALL of its damage against the Wall of Vapor.
Then that damage gets reduced to zero. This leaves none to go through
to the defending player.

Wall of Vapor reduces all damage to zero, does it not? If so, then there
is no trample damage left to spill over.

Hi
I also had this trample problem for several times...
In the end a friend of mine called the WOC hotline in belgium an they said the
following:
1) trample goes through a wall of vapor/shadows
2) even if you play a gaseous form on a trampler he can't kill a creature but
the trampledamage goes to the player...
opinions?
is the hotline wrong or what?

No. If a creature is blocked, the damge is assigned to the blocker first.
The ONLY time trample damage carries over is when the damage is enopugh
to kill the creature, or, in the case of the newer gasous form, the
creature does not recieve damage. Wall of Vapor reduces ALL damage it
recieves from creatures to 0, therefore there is no way a creature could
do enough to kil it, and no damage is left to trample over...

Someone had their head up their ass on that one. The damage the wall
recieves is ruduced to 0. All damage from creatures blacked is assgned to
the blocker first, the leftover trample damage after the blocker is
killed. Since these walls reduce the damage to 0, where's the leftover
damage to trample?

Makes sense with 4th GF. The wording is that the creature neither deals
nor recieves damage. NOT "damage is reduced to 0". The trample damage
isn't reduced and has to go SOMEWHERE...
