Artifact creature/summon sickness

For example:
1. Cast Grapeshot Catapult
2. Tap it to deal one damage to any flying creature.
Is that possible to do or not?
It is because it is an artifact, but it isn't because it is a creature (not
summon one)

Artifact creatures have summoning sickness just like other creatures. You
must wait a turn to atack or use special abilities.
While we are on the subject of grapeshot catapult, since it can deal
damage to flyers does this mean it can block flyers? I assume not since
the card does not say so but it is a bit confusing.

Uh, no. Prodigal Sorcerer can do one damage to anything; does that
mean it can block anything? Nope...

Depends. As the rulebook notes, abilities with "Tap:" in the activation
cost can't be used by a creature if the creature is "sick". Other abilities
have no such restriction. [Mono Artifacts have "Tap:" in the cost for
their ability, but are not creatures anyway unless Animated.]

Nope. It's still "sick" and cannot use its "Tap:" ability yet.

Artifact creatures are resticted by rules than govern both
artifacts and creatures. Thus, they have summoning sickness and cannot
tap to use an ability or attack on the round they are summoned. Some
creatures and artifact creatures however, like the triskelion, have
abilities that do not require that they tap to perform their special
ablity; they can use them the round they're summoned.
