JOSHUA
It was probably Derek Rank who got the most points in Type 2, and he did
play the Demonic Consultation deck, both in the semis and in the Finals. He
might have made the team, but for a mana-hose (no red mana) in the 3rd game
in the Losers' bracket.
But Mark Justice did *not* play a Vice Age deck--that was Henry Stern, who
took second. Mark did play red/green with a Johtull Worm and a Black Vise,
but he did not have all the traditional components of the Vice Age deck--at
least, of the variant played by Henry which came out of Mark Chalice's
basic idea in L.A.

Being the person Mark beat in the finals, I think I can speak with some
authority here :) Yes, Mark had *a* Johthull Wurm in his deck (and a few
other big critters as well). No, he did not have any demonic
consultations. Yes, he did channel-ball me a couple of times. Mark's deck
was designed (very well, I might add) to beat people playing black(5 of the
other finalists) and to beat people who play alot of artifacts or
enchantments (me). If you were to play his *exact* deck in an open
tournament you wouldn't get very far. However, a few alterations would
leave you with a very playable deck.

Yep, only one Johtull Worm. It doesn't fight off black players, but the 4
Whirling Dervishes sure did, along with the Lifeforce in the main deck. The
look on one opponent's face in game 1 when the Lifeforce showed up was grim...
(the guy was playing pure black).
