Nice card! Not sure about the "combat ends" part... Combat was supposed to
end anyway... What impact does this text hav? Does the opposing vampire now
NOT go to torpor?
Chas Giovanni Tello
DOM POT
Independent : When Chas announces an action, any other Methuselah can
discard a master card as an out-of-turn master to cause the action to fail.
Chas gets +1 strength when in combat with a titled vampire.
Guess I have to find a way to use this baby without taking actions... Lots
of deflections, some permanent intercept spiced up with signposts, grapples
and big POT-strikes! In any case, he'll be difficult to play, but fun too!
Weaknesses are advantages you have to search a little harder to find!

It ends combat. It doesn't save the opposing vampire from torpor (since
nothing on card text indicates that it does). It would, for example,
prevent you from Torturing your victim and then Amaranthing him.
(Something that would be possible if Tortured Confession didn't explicitly
end combat as part of its effect).

I'm glad they gave him such a "flaw". Another 4 with DOM means all
the crypt machine decks get that much nastier... Of course it leads to
such questions as: do I really want my "name master card here" or do I
want to be bled for 3-7 pool? hmmm....interesting.
LSJ: if somebody uses a master-out-of-turn to cause chas's action to
fail, does that mean he's tapped? or simply canceled like direct
intervention?

The action fails. It is not canceled - it fails (card text).
He tapped to take the action [6.2.1], the action failed (card text), and
nothing about his card text indicates that he is to be untapped when his
actions fail, so...

You're right, this might not be so hot after all. Another 4 pointer with
DOM, that spells lots more sleaze and lots more Deflections to me. What are
there three 4 caps with DOM now, that's getting ugly.... but then again the
DOM Dom deck will only be enhanced slightly with him (take out 1 Ingrid put
in Chas I suppose?) Bit less contesting but more stopped actions with his
master counter thing ??

Idle note: the Crypt Machine uses 4-caps with inferior Dominate, not
superior. =) 4-caps can't Govern to 4-caps.

I wasn't referring to an actual deck. Just a deck-design with
dominate weenies. We have a version of the original "Crypt Machine"
in our playgroup in Madison that uses 4's and below (not contesting
much of anyone) which is why I thought another 4 with DOM would suck
for me personally...
