Heya folks, here is the tournament report for our last
local tournament.

Tournament report for Crusade: Adelaide 2001
--------------------------------------------

The yearly challenge for control of the city, Crusade: Adelaide, was
fought again last weekend, on the 4th of November 2001. Organised by
the local Prince, John Tilly, the day saw a gathering of 10 contestants.
The day saw the inclusion of two combatants playing their first sanctioned
tournament, Andrew Carpenter (playing a Tremere deck) and Brian Skelly
(playing a middling to high capacity Potence/Presence with mixed
intentions?).

The first three rounds were dominated by Steven Wedd playing a weenie
potence deck which I guess caught several of us with our pants, and
combat defence, down about our ankles. >;->

The VP spread after the first three rounds was as follows:
--------------------------------------------
Steven Wedd (Weenie Potence): 12 VP
Tony Onofrio (Presence/Auspex Bleed/Misdirect): 6 VP
Andrew Carpenter (Tremere Dominate Bleed/Thaumaturgy Combat): 4 VP
Jeremy Groffen (Ventrue Dominate/Fortitude): 3.5 VP
Belinda Brooks (Auspex/Obfuscate?): 1.5 VP
Simon Burton (Serpentis/Fortitude Experimental): 1 VP
Brian Skelly (Potence/Presence mixed intentions?): 0 VP
Bradley Niemann (Ventrue Votes): 0 VP
John Tilly (Intercept Gun Deck): 0 VP
Peter Millhahn (Tremere Combat): 0 VP
--------------------------------------------

(I must say Pete Millhahn deserves mention for coming frustratingly
close to but somehow just missing out on VP's a couple of times)

The outcome of the final was Steve taking first place with 3 VP, Jeremy
taking second place with 2 VP and Tony, Andrew, Belinda coming 3rd, 4th
and 5th respectively based upon VP from previous rounds.

The prizes were Artist Signed V;TES cards chosen by the winners in order
with 4,3,2,1,1 cards going to the 5 finalist positions. A single card was
also awarded to John Tilly as he stands down from being Prince and I take
up the role again after a year of being busy with other commitments. An
extra card was also awarded to Steven Wedd who is alas leaving us to live
in Sydney. The cards will be mounted over the next few weeks for the
winners as a sort of trophy)

Overall the occurrence of several combat and 'strange' decks made the day
a fascinating one with a lot of perplexed and worried looks on several
players' faces throughout the day.

As befits tradition below is the winning deck, plus a couple of others
from the tournament I have in text format already and the other 10 decks
will be posted to the Adelaide V:TES site (http://vampire.tne.net.au)
over the next week or so.
