With this card, if the methuselah who took over the location is ousted,
does the location return to it's previous owner or is it off to the ash
heap?

All cards controlled by a Methuselah are burned when that Methuselah is
ousted. This includes any stolen locations/equipment/vampires/allies/etc.

All cards *owned* by the ousted Methuselah are also burned - even if they
are controlled by other Methuselahs (having been similarly stolen).
