The card text:

Weighted Walking Stick:
Only usable before range is determined on the first round.
Put this card on this minion and put 5 counters on this card. While in
play, this card represents a melee weapon (and counts as equipment
while in play). This weapon does strength+1 damage each strike. For
each point of damage inflicted by this strike (even if it is
prevented), remove a counter from this card. Burn this card when it has
no counters. A minion can have only 1 Weighted Walking Stick.

Blood Fury:
Only usable at close range.
[tha] Strike: make a hand strike at +1 damage. This damage cannot be
prevented by cards that require Fortitude [for]. If the opposing
vampire attempts to strike with a weapon this round, he or she does no
damage.
[THA] As above, but for strength+2 damage.

So when someone strikes with Walking stick and another strikes with
Blood Fury (or Blood Rage) does the Walking Stick lose counters? Damage
was not prevented, it was not done at all due to Blood Fury.

I thought so because the parenthetical text on WWS is clarifying text
providing an example of a case when damage is prevented.

The damage was not inflicted. Thus, no counters are lost. Just like
when someone dodges a WWS. Damage was not inflicted.
