ok, so the question is, does anyone use these, or is there some reason
to use something else? there is little in the way of independent
review that i could find, and i'm thinking of buying quite a few, so i
wondered if anyone had good ideas here on the newsgroup?
thank you,
john
Same here. If someone can tell me of a good storage solution (and no,
shoe boxes DO NOT count ;) I would love to find somethign.
The old card box that holdas about a 1000 cards is no longer good
enough as I have to use way too many of them
Try your local baseball card shop or comic store. You should be able
to find cardboard boxes that hold upwards of 5000 cards. Ebay is also
a good option. The boxes are 5 or 6 rows, similar to the single card
boxes, but multiple rows.

I use these:

They're pretty good quality, although I have nothing to compare them to.
Matt Morgan
Yeah. Those are the ones I use.
The sorting tray I have (one), but I never use it.
I use these:

The monster boxes (3200ct) are better than the 5000 ct because they are
easier to pick up. I can pick up 2 3200s with ease, the 5000cts are
bulkier, and of course heavier, so picking up 2 is tougher.
I have them in stacks 6 high, you could conceivably go 10 high...

Yes, this is what I use as well.
I have a monster box too. I like it a lot. And I agree it's about as
much weight as you'd want in one box. It flexes a little when you pick
it up. I'd be worried larger boxes might be a little too unwieldy.
Much nicer than the box off my old dvd player from the 90's with cereal
box carboard dividers that I store some of my cards in...

That is exactly what I was looking for to get my cards organized.
Does anyone know where to get them in Europe?
I found a shop in the US that ships 5 of these to Austria for USD 50.
That is pretty hefty for 12 USD worth of cardboard...
Kind regards,
Marcus
Baseball card shops are generally not found outside the US as nobody
else really cares about the sprt o the cards. So not really gonna
help ;)
Local comic book shop does not stock boxes, have asked them already.
Will check Ebay, but want to know what is a good product first
You will find the boxes on ebay, amazon and other sites. Just search
for "3200 card monster.
I found that the problem is s&h to my place (Austria, Europe). It is
between USD 50 and 100 for 4 to 5 boxes.
Kind regards,
Marcus
Agreed Marcus. Shipping to Prague is a nightmare. There must be some
local supplier who provides these things
I use Ikea's Fira ( http://www.ikea.com/cz/cs/catalog/products/80073304
) . Cards fit in there, but you'll have to build it. It's rather
easy.
Tip : use glue instead of the nails for the cupboards.
Could you upload an photo of how the cards fit in the boxes? I might
buy these also if they look good.
Austria? Ha! To Australia they wanted $85 for 3 of the monster boxes
(which cost $7.50)....
There you go :

Sleeved cards are to large to fit in the box.
Yeah, ditto. This looks good
Nice. I'll have to think about those.
One of our local players uses these. He likes them. I believe his wife
likes them too, since they are much more attractive then the cardboard
boxes...

See, now that is the important bit...
Can you give an estimate on how many cards can fit in a box? Trying to
figure out how many I need to buy. My wife might actually go for
these. I hate storing my card boxes under the bed then having to drag
them out every time.
What about the starter boxes? Too tight for them?
Morgan Vening
The name says it all, 3200 cards in the box.
Kind regards,
Marcus
If you provide these definitely let me know! I almost orderd some from
the US but guess I can wait until Jannuary.
Kind regards,
Marcus
Me too!
With a basis of 200 cards in 6,2 cm, and having each cupboard be 23 cm
long, I calculate approximatively 740 cards per cupboard, meaning 6680
per piece of furniture (9 cupboards).
This is a complete approximation, range my vary depending on lots of
parameters, like how often you use cards (used cards tend not to be as
flat as brand new ones).
A starter box is too big to fit in a Fira cupboard.

Yay!!!!!! Lemme know please? really need some of those monsters, and I
know of at least 5 other Prague players who do too
Sorry, meant the boxes from IKEA. I have plenty of the 3200 and 5000
count boxes and the wife doesn't like them out (for good reason). I
was wondering how many each drawer holds.
Will let you know a bit later, I went and bought two, busy playing
IKEA LEGO...
Doing good, but running out of space ;-)
like the fact that the Fira fits exactly one crad width and height per
drawer though
OK so 1 of these, with the 9 drawers, fits about 600 per drawer so
easily fits 5400. If you pack a bit tighter, it is most likely more.
The retail price will be a little bit higher than the US prices because
the S&H is twice as expensive as the product itself. :(
Here are a few examples:
Card House Storage Box VK 10,90 EUR
800 Count Storage Box 1,50 EUR
Monster Storage Box (3200 Ct.) 3,50 EUR
Super Monster Storage Box (5000 Ct) 5,90 EUR
Deck Keeper 1,90 EUR
Deck Keeper Imprinted 2,50 EUR
S&H to different countries will vary (10,00-20,00 EUR flat)
If you are interested in buying the product, please email me at
st...@vtes.de until friday february 6th. If we collect enough orders
we´ll definitely try to import the product. If you would like to have
any other products from BWC, feel free to inquiry these as well.
Regards,
Andreas
