To quote WW page on !salubri:
"The Salubri antitribu cards mix well with the same clans that
the mainstream Salubri do"
Which brings us to the Salubri page:
"The Salubri cards mix well with the Ventrue antitribu and the
Harbingers of Skulls"
Now let us analyze the Discpline spread of !Salubri
val
aus val
for val
ani aus val
AUS for VAL
All seem to hav this !sal only dicipline val. In addition to
that, other disciplines are (ordered by most amount of) aus,
for, ani. Where we have only one AUS and no FOR.
And then there is this val thingie. What does it stand for?
Lets see (in eldb3 order): ani, tha, aus, ani, obe, for, ani
pot.
Thats 3 ani, 1 of rest (aus, for, obe, pot, tha).
It seems that ani, aus and for are the main disciplines of
the bloodline (counting valeren as ani). Let us see how many
harbringers or !ventrue have ani/ANI
Dominique
Dominique (Advanced)
Humm... thats... thats... one! So no not !ventrues or
harbringers evidently.
By eldb3 listing (post BH) I get 6 gangrel, 3 !gangrel
3 nosferatu, 3 ravnos, 2 tzimisce, 1 !ventrue, and
most intrestingly one tremere, who happens to have all the
disciplines valeren has as outferior (except obe). And is
missing only one of obeah's outferiors.
Cardano close range combat anoyone?
Now then where does this leave me? Im still even more baffled
by !sal. Are the to be used as close range gangrel fighters, or
Cardano's little helpers? If anyone has found some 'ally
bloodline' use or can think some, I would be really intrested
as a Saulot fan and owner of 6 adonai.
ps.
A question (lsj?) suppose The Great Beast has valeren and plays
Sword of the Righteous+Vengeance of Samiel on his sword of
nuln for 4 +1 +2=7 aggravated undodgable damage.
If opposing minion take the damage, and does not prevent
does the damage work like this:
1 point - opposing goes to torpor
six remaining points - opposing minion mus burn 12 blood to
prevent destruction.
and to continue, if opposing minion fails to prevent more
than one point of damage, does the opposing minion have to
burn 2 blood to prevent destruction?

No, the card text says, Vampires must spend twice the normal amount of blood
to heal the damage. First point of Agg sends to torpor, then 1 blood is
spent for each additional point of damage to prevent destruction. This is
not healing, as aggravated damage cannot be healed.

no
As for how to use the !Salubri, it's not easy. I've tried a couple times
without sucess, though there was a couple posted on this forum a while back.
If anyone has any successful !Salubri decks, could they pls be posted?
DarkA
Correct.

Part of the problem is that there's basically two groups of !Salubri. Adonai
is like a real vampire but gots no weenieness. The others are like overcosted
Smudges. They don't even work well with themselves.
To answer the question - Baali.

?????
Orpheus, puzzled
3 have for
4 have AUS/aus
If that's what you're going with you'd probably be better off avoiding the
infernalists, and going with the !Ventrue.

Sarcasm et al aren't easily conveyed. A fuller explanation of how I view
!Salubri and how it pertains to the Baali goes something like this. They, as a
whole, don't have disciplines, so any concern over their disciplines is
unimportant. So, besides being Sabbat, the only thing they have to offer is
the ability to play Blessing of the Name. BotN is okay. It's massively better
when you need to untap minions who don't untap or to get around infernal costs
and the like as it ceases being a close substitute to just untapping as normal.
Weakness of the BotN deck is that you never want to fail to play one in a
given turn once you start playing them. As !Salubri don't have disciplines,
they got jack for stealth. Baali cover this with Cloak. Then, neither Baali
nor the disciplineless !Salubri have bounce, so the two intercept from
BotN+Sense the Sin gives some sort of casual defense from being ousted. It's
all quite synergistic. Bad. But synergistic.
BTW, I was glancing through Lairs of the Hidden, supplement for V:TM involving
high powered vamps. There was an ability, Dream Combat?, that may have been
Valeren (either that or Obeah). I don't know if it's already in this game
under another name, if not, an opportunity to give Valeren something useful to
do.
I have been thinking some wierd !tremere+adonai decks, but...
My problem with adonai is that if he is the only "real" vampire
of the package, why should he have only inferior fortitude.
btw. IMHO wolf is pretty ok 4 cap, missing one clan discipline,
but thats not a broblem most of the time.
Dream Combat
Reaction/action modifier
only usable during
a bleed action.
aus: reduce bleed against
you by 1.
val: if this vampire bleeds successfully
all tapped minions controlled by your
prey burn 1 blood
VAL: bleed fails this vampire enters combat
with acting minion.
