I'm new to the game and have been reading up the Lasombra site of deck
list a lot. however, i cant find any site that actually talks about
how the deck functions and how to play the game. You know, magic the
gathering has alot of fan site that teaches new players effective
strategies, tournament deck analysis and step by step report of top
tournament matches that new players can learn alot from.
is there any of such site for VTES? i'm intrigued by all the various
deck types, but other than stealth bleeding and combat rush that i've
toyed with, i've not idea how the deck functions. Even with combat
deck (i played a !Nos modified black hand starter), i have no idea
when and who i should rush, how to deal with S:CE prey. when to cross
table rush or many many other things. Even though my play group here
in Singapore are very friendly and helpful, it'll be nice if i can
learn some basics on my own instead of keep troubling the veterans
here.
any help and pointers to such site will be much appreciated!
I don't know about a website that does just that, but the Player's
Guide (it's a book) is good for this. It was written by a number of
veterans and contains info on almost all clans*, has outlines and
examples of all common strategies and a section about 'in game
tactics'. Plus, it's got lots of purdy pictures and looks great in
your bookcase. :-)
It should still be available.
* it was published right after KMW came out, so it doesn't cover any
stuff since that set (including the Laibon and Imbued). But the main
strategy articles and info about clans and disciplines are still just
as useful (it's not like the main concept of Bruise-Bleed has
changed).
Hope that helps!

(would love a Player's Guide #2, come to think of it)
There is some info on www.thepathofblood.com that might be useful as
well (although the site is geared for the assamite clan obviously).
Also, I believe Lasombra has some strategy articles linked from his
site and some of the linked sites also have some.

I personally go to http://extrala.blogspot.com for getting to know the
basic deck archetypes. Ralf always has good write-ups complete with
How to Win Against This Archetype, How to Win With This Archetype, and
a lot of actual TWDs that exhibit what the archetype shows.
As for how decks function (even uber-fail plays), there are many blogs
that write about such experiences. You can check the blogroll on the
right side of extrala for the more popular ones.
Happy bleeding (and learning)!

Hello and welcome.
Besides the above mentioned Extrala blog, there's more information you
probably didn't see in thelasombra: http://www.thelasombra.com/strategy.htm
In thelasombra and extrala's blog you have lots of tips on deck
building, strategy and rules.
Once you start playing and build your own deck, this newsgroup is a
great place to post it so that more experienced players can tip you
directly on the deck's strengths and weaknesses and strategy to win
with it.
You can also ask any question you might have about any card
interaction or rules.
One of the great things about this game is its community.
Cheers!

And there is an update for $4 http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=12403&it=1
I'll point out the old clan newsletters that are archived on:
http://www.thelasombra.com/newsletter.htm
Have a lot of basic strategy information, by clan. There are a lot of
decks that have detailed strategy descriptions, a lot of discussion of
individual vampires and what they are good for, etc. The quality and
utility of any specific newsletter is going to be kind of random, but
if you go through enough of them, you'll find a lot of helpful stuff.

I'll second(third? fourth? fifth?) the suggestion to check out links
from http://www.thelasombra.com/strategy.htm
Also check out: http://www.thelasombra.com/utilities.htm specifically
Anarch Revolt Deck Builder and Secret Library for some good info on
cards and to help build/save decks.
Here's a link all about deck building: http://www.thelasombra.com/deck-building-theories.htm
The Ash Heap also has some useful advice(i.e. "defending without
bounce") http://www.ashheap.storageannex.com/resources.htm
I check Extrala just about every day: http://extrala.blogspot.com/
There's a heaping helping of strategy for you. If you feel like
